I like it I can tell you’ve been working on it… I’ve mentioned him before and I’ll do it again… Isiaih Mosley out of Missouri State should be more considered widely than he is. His lack of defense might scare some, but he is a bucket getter and a lights out scorer. There seems to be quite an abundance of good modern day bigs in this draft. Don’t know how much room there is in the draft for all of them. Approaching march, hoping to see more mid major players that are getting slept on do some damage like Mosley and some other guys. This mock is a good pulse for what a good draft board would look like.

Oh yeah I forgot about him. Also forgot Max Abmas. This type of mock is hard to do…

I wonder how this year is gonna play out for early entries now that players can get endorsement deals. I bet a big money team like Kentucky or UNC will be much more likely to retain a potential draft prospect than a Big East team with less money. Might see alot of these guys stay back.

If Tshiebwe or Bacot stays those guys could earn millions.

Interesting and excellent mock as usual. I never know whether it is good to consider team needs at this stage or just do it on BPA.

Given John Hammond’s liking for drafting players with size I just don’t see him passing on someone like Chet so the Magic taking him would make perfect sense.

I personally think Ivy will go within top 3 and 4 and possibly Washington is a little low but otherwise it is a great mock as always.

Yeah Chet is the exact type of player John Hammond has wanted to draft his entire career. No way Orlando passes on him. Suggs and Holmgren were also HS teammates so him to the Magic is a no brainer.

I would be ecstatic if Detroit gets Jabari Smith. I’d settle for Holmgren or Banchero, but Smith is the one I want.

Detroit can almost can and probably need to take BPA in this year’s draft. Jabari Smith I think would be a nice fit for them I don’t know if he needs to be the dominant frontcourt player on his team or is better with a solid defensive anchor at C behind him.
I might slightly prefer Chet for the Pistons but either him or Jabari would be great for them.

I don’t know if Jaden Ivey would be an ideal fit for Detroit but if they did take him they have their backcourt sorted for years with him and Cade Cunningham.

I’m watching a Toledo game right now and Ryan Rollins looks legit. Shumate is pretty good too.

Ivey/Davis 2.0 is an ugly match.

I’ll just work through my thoughts.
Jabari Smith makes much more sense at #1 than Chet Holmgren. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chet goes first. Still, I don’t see a ton of difference in the upside (different stylistic players, but the point remains), but know there is far more risk that Chet’s lack of strength and body likely being inhibiting factor. As the year has gone on, I have been more impressed with how well Chet operates offensively. On that end, he has some Evan Mobley to him where you see their father’s influence in them being advanced mentally about the game, but is probably 20 lbs. lighter than an already slim Mobley.

Fabian White is going to be in the NBA net year, and I think by June will be regarded as a late-1st possibility. He couldn’t shoot early in his college career and had the ACL injury last season, but he checks all the boxes. He has great length and athleticism, and I tend to believe he will shine with his measurements and testing at the Combine. At Houston, everyone learns to defend, and he is great at that end. He has improved to 38% from behind the arc on 3.5 attempts per game. His numbers are deflated by the pace at which Houston plays, but I am bullish on his potential. I think teams at the back of the 1st round looking to add athleticism and athleticism to their frontcourt like Miami, Chicago, and Milwaukee will be possible landing spots.

Matteo Spagnolo is an interesting watch. Real Madrid loaned him out to Vanoli in Italy, and he has definite Tyler Herro vibes, but it is always a gamble when the body of work is on a once-a-week team. I think a year with Real Madrid would really help his cause, but could very well be a draft-and-stash should he enter this year.

Nikola Jovic had a four or five game stretch where it appeared as though he was breaking through, but then went into a rut for about a month. Prior to last weekend, he has been shooting sub-30% from the floor and 13% from three over the past six games, which when on a once-a-week team can be problematic. I get that he has the height and creative potential that will always garner attention, but he is having a bit of the Serbian Patrick Baldwin season while not having people pumping the breaks on them.

I mentioned him before, and I will do it again, but I think Darryl Morsell has improved his shot enough to where he will get in the NBA next year. A team like the Lakers who are in desperate need of young guards who can defend should leap at the chance to buy a 2nd rounder to lock him in.
