It’s about damn time y’all. 41 points in a finals clinching game. Well deserved. 16 years in the making for Chris Paul.

i lost joy after my lakers were out of the playoffs..my only enjoyment was seeing monty get his respect..and hoping cp3 do well and stay injury free… 16 years in the league he is finally going to the finals.

i think he could’ve went several times prior with the clippers and houston..but injuries stopped him..and isnt it ironic that becuz of injuries to kawhi,ad,lebron and jamal murray he finally gets there.

He really trolled his way to the Finals. I honestly thought the crowd was gonna do something when he was taunting them. Can’t blame Beverley either.

I really developed a soft spot for Marc Gasol and Ibaka’s run with Toronto where after hitting their head on the glass ceiling for a decade they finally broke through, and this feels the same way. The NBA doesn’t always reward persistence. Often times guys just fade off, and I think everyone thought that was going to happen to CP3 when he was scapegoated and dumped by Houston. It has taken some luck along the way, but he is now in the driver seat to win a title with the most unlikely of champions. Cam Payne was exiled to China, in the 2019-20 season, and deservedly so. Torrey Craig started his pro career by playing four years in Australia and New Zealand. Jae Crowder is an undersized journeyman. It took 4 1st round picks to dump Chris Paul’s contract two years ago. Dario Saric is a point forward who has bounced around because teams didn’t want him to do the point part. Cam Johnson was the “overaged” senior. Analysts widely panned Mikal Bridges for not having upside. They are now probably the favorites to win it.

I don’t think anyone deserves this more than Monty WIlliams. Brought the Pelicans to the Playoffs and got fired, that team would’ve been good I think that was the most shocking firing I’ve seen it never made sense. Paul was considered the worst contract in the league a few years ago but this run and even last years should be a reminder why you keep paying him the max. It’s also why Toronto should resign Lowry whether or not they draft Suggs.

As a Phoenix fan I’m delighted we have reached the first finals since I started following them in the mid 2000’s. Its ironic that OKC didn’t try to make a run with CP3, Horford and co and we got him for almost nothing. With all the hype about certain superstars if would be ironic if Booker and Trae Young reached an NBA Final before Giannis.

Crowder was a very good starter at Boston and has done a similar role for the Suns. Bridges likewise does a lot of the dirty work and Ayton has settled into his role without the constant comparisions against his draft class. Saric is a NBA quality starter and gives us quality off the bench.

If the Hawks did make the final too can anyone remember two lottery teams one year going to the Finals the next?

I know CP3 rubs a lot of people the wrong way (me too sometimes) but his greatness is undeniable. He’s actually underrated, in my opinion, and now has a shot to go down as the second-best PG of all time after Magic.

Still, I I don’t believe in asterisks, but they beat the Lakers without AD, the Nuggets without Murray and the Clippers without Kawhi. Are they going to face the Bucks without Giannis, or the Hawks without Young, in the Finals?
