OhCanada-ParticipantFor the longest time I thought Duarte would go to Memphis, but in the 2nd round. Just because of how good the fit would be there. Then his draft stock rose and I thought it would be a reach however he recently shutdown workouts and decided not to participate in the combine. Alot of people including myself saw that and thought he must have gotten a 1st round promise and I immediately linked that to this pick. However I’m not so sure thats the case.
I think Duarte has been getting serious consideration in the 1st round and didn’t want to risk a poor performance at the combine because remember. Hes 24. If he went to the combine and played, decent its not enough for him to standout and justify picking him despite his age. Theres alot of talent still left here an I’m not sure picking Duarte is the pick here. Hes only a year younger than Brooks…
That being said I’m gonna see what you guys think before making my pick.

OhCanada-ParticipantIm also picking Cam Thomas here. I actually think he will get picked in the lottery. I feel like any team that picks Kispert ahead of him is making a huge mistake. Star potential.

bt102ParticipantWell I know it’s over but I don’t get that pick for Memphis. Their frontcourt is already loaded and they already have Dillon Brooks who I think is best case scenario for Cam Thomas. I’d have argued Ziaire Williams because they honestly just don’t need him rn

NorrinRaddParticipantCam Thomas’ a natural scorer. That’s what Memphis need now as a team trying to compete and win. Ziaire is such a HOU/OKC pick imo. He’s kind of a mystery because of his weird season.

OhCanada-ParticipantCam Thomas is different. He has the most complete offensive skillset in this draft and its not really close tbh. Green might have more potential because of is athleticism but Thomas is for sure going to be instant offense immediately. Ziare is Cam Reddish 2.0. I think he’s more like CJ Mccollum than Dillon Brooks.

RUDEBOY-Participant17.duarte…
memphis need a player thats better than jjj, dillion has passed him as their 2nd best player..
as a grizzlies fan there will be so many guys at 17 that’ll contribute right away kispert, thomas, bouknight, wagner, hyland, springer, mann, zaire willaims
or someone promising with upside like a boston or primo…
but i would love it if they grab duarte..i think he has exactly what they need defense, outside shooting and another playmaker…1+ - AuthorPosts
