canadabasketballisrisingParticipantWith Klay out and not playing, these are the best possible teams, not saying everyone will play.
USA
Davis/ Kat/ Bam. (Kat wont play, he can, he was 16 not 17 playing for Dom.= Turner)
Durant/ Tatum/
Lebron/ george
Kawhi/ harden
Curry/ Lillard/ KyrieCanada
Thompson/ Powell
Olynik/ Clarke/ Lyles
Wiggins/ Barrett
Murray/ Brooks/ Dort
SGA/ Joseph2+ - Posted on: Thu, 12/24/2020 - 2:35am #1245193

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantIdk who’s out (should be Joesph but he’s the vet with loads of international competition experience) but SGA’s cousin Nickeil Alexander-Walker should have a roster spot for Canada. Maybe Dort? They could use his defense and toughness.

dmo21ParticipantNAW hasn’t really showed anything yet in the NBA. Joseph is a veteran PG to have off the bench. Dort brings defense and toughness. NAW might make the team one day, but looking at that roster he’s not making it right now unless someone backs out (Wiggins?).
For big men, you could maybe see a guy like Birch or Boucher in for Lyles or if somebody backs out or gets injured.

OhCanada-ParticipantGreat list. Pretty sure Team Canada basketball said they will show love to those that have stuck with the team throughout the process so a guy like Melvin Ejim will probably be getting a roster spot. Same with Khem Birch. Boucher will probably also get a spot since Nurse is coaching Team Canada. Not sure how that will all work out but we’ll probably see Wiggins sitting out. Dort will probably get snubbed unfortunately and someone will probably get injured.
Love the fact that you have Olynyk as a starter, hes a lethal scorer when it comes to international basketball.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantyes, thats the best possible team. I agree with you, there should be loyalty to Joseph, Birch and Ejim at a minimum. Not everyone will play, counting on Wiggins to play would be like counting on Paul George to elevate his game in the playoffs consistently.
The players who will very likely show up will be: Joseph, Dillion Brooks, Barrett, Olynik, Birch, Boucher and probably Murray if he can. Thompson or Powell seems likely. Everyone else- no one knows. They only need 6 nba players with 2 of them being murray, wiggins or SGA and they should be fine. Having guys like Pangos, Phil Scrubb, Ejim, Wiltjer, is no problem if they are your 7-12th guys. Its a problem when they are your starters competing against a greece or turkey at full strength. With 6 nba players and 2 of those (wiggins, murray, sga) they should be heavy favourites even if Giannis plays. Turley kind of scares me because they almost beat the states with tatum, kemba, mitchell.0 - AuthorPosts
