Rookies: Tyreke Evans, Omri Cassipi, Taj Gibson, Jonas Jerebko, Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, Jonny Flynn, James Harden, and DeJuan Blair.

Sophomores: Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, OJ Mayo, Marc Gasol, Kevin Love, Brook Lopez, Danilo Gallinari, and Russell Westbrooks. and Michael Beasley.

I think Ty Lawson should be on the rookies team even though there’s a lot of point guards.

looks good to me. I said a few days ago that harden should be in over lawson and a couple people told me it wasn’t even close between those two, lawson was the obvious choice.

I think Lawson got snubbed….but with so many point guards, you knew somebody was gonna get left out

Shows you how weak the 2009 class is, 2 guys from the 2nd round made it

Glad to see my boy Gallo in there, Nate in the dunk contest, Gallo in the rook game, all we need now is Lee to be an all-star

The sophmore team is absolutely loaded in the backcourt…. rose/gordon/westbrook/mayo are a year away from being all stars…damn

Freshmen are going to get smoked this year like no other with Rose playing with his old buddy Eric Gordon then O.J. Mayo and Westbrook are the other guards I won’t even mention the big men for the sophomores since the freshmen don’t really have any, but Lawson should be on the team instead of Flynn, IMO, but I don’t get to make the rosters so fuck me right.

This shows you just how deep and talented 2008 was. Geez every one on the sophomore roster is starting for their club…

DeMar DeRozan got screwed… He is staring in the Dunk-In, during the half time game for goodness sake… the guy has been a starter for all the Raptors games this season (except tonight vs the Heat due to an ankle injury)… But the kid has game and has played tremendously and put up consistent numbers while playing with big players like Bosh, Bargnani and Turk…

Just wait 5 years, you will see how DeMar transforms into a great wing player… then the fact he was overlooked will be ridiculous!

You do realize he went 9th in the draft right? How is anybody overlooking him? What kind of numbers is he putting up? Because I’m willing to bet all the wings that are in are doing better. Yeah he might be a stud in 5 years, but cmon man, We’re living in a world of “what have you done for me lately” not “what are you going to do in the future”

The Rookies are going to get absolutly hammered. That Sophmore class is one of the best overall draft classes in a long long time…followed by one of the worst classes in a long long time. Everyone of the sophmore roster has serious all star potential and are all playing very well this season. Not just the guards, the Big men are stacked. Lopez, Love, Beasley, and Gasol…stacked.

People that will do damage is Jennings if his game and body is right. Tyreke Evans is strong and will do good. But if they lock those two guys down i dont see anything happening on the offensive side of the ball.

The only way the Rookies win is if Evans, Jennings or Curry get 35 points, and the other 2 get 15-20 each.

I don’t think Harden being chosen over Lawson meant Harden was more deserving. I just think the team already had three little guards in Jennings, Curry and Flynn.

MagikKnick how does 2 guys making it from the second round show how weak it is?..in actuality that would indicate how strong it is if 2 guys who werent even first rounders played well enough to make it

R-Dot-13- thortan didnt get snubbed. you cant go by if this guy got this time or if that guy got that time. you go by what have they been doing

Killer_kat12345- how you figure he got snubbed. harden is putting up better overall numbers, although not by alot so it might have been close.

as far as lawson and harden, harden is scoring more getting more boards and getting a tad less assists in one more minute of game time. hes shooting a lower percentage then lawson though. i can understand why he got picked over lawson even if they didnt need another pg

I’m getting tired of seeing lower picks in the draft be included over higher ones. Thompson’s averages are still better this year than both Beasley and Gallinari even though he has been in a rut the last few weeks.

I would have also taken Lawson over Harden but it’s not a huge difference, I can understand wanting another SG, but it is not like the sophomores have large guards so you could move Curry to play SG, and then again, Harden could surprise.

i disagree basket. beasley is puttin gup almost 3 more points a game. 2 less rebounds on a playoff team. thompson is doing what hes doing on a bad team

2.6 more points, 2 less rebounds, 0.6 less assists, 0.4 more steals, and 0.5 less blocks.

And if you were to put the Heat in the West and say that they would have won the same amount of games as they have now, which they probably would not have since they are 9-12 against the west this year, then that would put them in 12th place and Sac in 14th. That just is not enough of a difference for me to use the argument that he is on a better team.

but they arent in the west. you cant say if or maybe you have to go by now. and the stats make a different if you are doing it on a winning team compared to a losing team. not to mention against thompson and the kings the first game

    beasley-20 5 4ast vs thompson 5 8 reb 4 ast
    second game beasley 21 13 4ast thompson 6pts 7reb 4 ast

both wins by miami one by 13 the other damn near by 40….ummmm i dont see it being that close and im willing to bet miami would do better in the west and thats not counting how they beat sac very very badly

Just because a player plays well against another in two games does not mean he is better. If Kobe was outplayed by Monta Ellis it would not make Monta better. It is the same with teams, you cannot judge just based on head to head comparisons. Which is why the NBA is not just a giant tournament, and has an 82 game season.

I am going by now, and right now Thompson has better averages. Since when has anyone taken a team’s record into consideration for who is the better player especially for the Rookie / Soph game, last time I checked it was not Beasley leading the Heat, It was their all-star and former MVP Dwayne Wade, guys like Haslem, Chalmers, Beasley, and Oniel help too; compare that with Tyreke and Thompson and I think it’s not that hard to figure out why the Heat have a better record.

how does thompson have better numnbers?..all he does is get a lil over one rebound more then beasley and everything else beasley has better averages? so what are you talking about better averages?…sorry but youre arguement holds no wait because beasley leads as far as better averages as you say.

This is an annoying argument. Beasley is putting up fine numbers, so is Thompson. If it was a huge disparity in stats, then being upset about it might be valid. But if the numbers are similair then its pointless. Fact is, Beasley is more well known. Therefor he gets the nod.

They are both good players, both are putting up good stats in only their second seasons, but Beasley is more popular and like it or not, thats the way it works.

beasley is a better player there for he would get the nod. better player on a better team plus overall better stats. its not really a debate
