    1. Evan Turner: There is no excuse for him to be anywhere lower than #2. Whats the excuse? injury: he has played VERY well since returning. position of need for the team making the 2nd pick: he plays pg, sg, sf all very well. thats unheard of for a 6-6 guy. his age: he and wesley johnson are 1 year apart, big deal!

    2. Greg Monroe: This guy should be a lottery lock. If he was playing at Kansas instead of aldrich he would be talked about as a top 5 pick but instead he is being knocked for being in the Georgetown Offense that is not stat friendly. I remember people saying to ignore jeff green’s good but not great numbers because he was in that offense and they were right he is doing well now. even hibbert was forgiven due to this. why not monroe? its not even like he is averaging 10 and 8, hes averaging 15 and 10 and 3 assists. he can do it all as a big man yet nobody is taking notice. he is one of the best passing bigs in a while, he can shoot much better than the average big man, he can play pretty good D, he has some nice post moves, he has answered questions about his poor rebounding last year by averaging 10 rebounds per game this year in a tough big east conference. He has shown leadership by leading his team to some big wins like over PITT, UConn, Butler, and Wash, as well as an almost victory vs. Villanova in which he dominated with 29 pts 16 rebs and 4 blks. He is near 2 blocks a game, and has the size and strength for the nba at 6-11 250. What is wrong with his game? I don’t get it? He is putting up huge stats on a winning team, in a great conference, playing for a good coach, has those stats in a system which is terrible for stats – especially for bigs, and he has all the skills you could ever dream about a big man having. What the hell are scouts thinking with their evaluation of this guy? He is just like Pau Gasol and yet nobody talks about his as being one of the top prospects. Huh? If he was Euro, scouts would be salivating over him. Well, whatever, I know he will prove the scouts wrong.

I think just like in other drafts people move up, He will be one of those guys. I think right now, scouts are drooling on potential and also a lot of guys may not know where the would play Monroe or if his average athleticism will translate. I have seen him play and i love his handling of the ball and stuff like that and when he plays hard watch out but he gets hardly any lift and he got his shot block in college by someone that is a basic no name.

If Turner keeps this up, he’ll be top-5. He doesn’t have the same high-end potential of Motiejunas, Favors, Aminu or Davis, but he’s proven that he and Johnson are clearly on the same level. If you need a playmaker, Turner’s your man. If you already have a ball-dominant star, Johnson’s your man. The choice should be strictly based on personnel.

Monroe’s got issues, starting with his mediocre athleticism and including a lack of a mean streak and a preference for playing face-up. But it’s a weak draft, and he’ll undoubtably be a lottery pick unless Georgetown goes bottoms-up like last year.

For the record, the site you happen to be on has Turner going third and Monroe going 10th. So I’m not sure what you’re complaining about 🙂

Turner is going #2 overall, you can take that to the bank. His ceiling is HIGH don’t kid yourself, he’s got a brandon roy/grant hill ceiling. I don’t want to hear he doesn’t have as much potential as some others blah…..like anyone knows a damn thing about Motijunas, a bench player in europe who is scrawny and doesn’t get much run. For all you know he’s another Tskitshvili or Darko. Aminu please, that dude has no outside game whatsoever, and is completely raw, and way too skinny. He might be okay, he doesn’t have 1/10th the basketball IQ Turner does.

I’m not sure if Evan Turner should be 2 but he can’t go lower than 4. If he had a better jumper he would easily be 2 and fighting for 1.

Monroe should be in the lottery, drop favors and let Monroe take his spot in the top 5 or whatever he is.

Where players go depends on where teams are picking. I’m not sure that Sacramento or Philly would pick Turner if they had pick #2.
