JNixonParticipantI like Brandon Roy here. I get to watch Joe Johnson play all the time, and I think that he’s not as good as Roy because he doesn’t play as aggressive or as clutch. Roy is about the same or better than Johnson at everything except shooting.

Bryant24ParticipantI wouldve mind if i got have both on my team but if i could have one i would take roy but joe johnson is so underrated

festar35ParticipantJoe Johnson just seems to lack that aggressiveness, not to say it isn’t there but he doesn’t show it as much maybe because he doesn’t need to.
Look at Roy in the first part of the season was averaging about the same as JJ (a little less in fact) when the Blazers were completely healthy, it seemed like Roy felt he didn’t have to be that Superstar every night but now with the injuries to the Blazers he has been nothing short of spectacular. He has to do more work in order for his team to win.Sill would take Roy.

knicksfreakParticipantJoe Johnson. I think he is a better defender, dribbler and shooter. His passing ability is vastly underrated as well. He actually played point for the Hawks for a while and ran some point in Phoenix when Nash was out. Plus he is a longer player with an inch or 2 over Roy.

the I in winParticipantJohnson doesn’t have a killer instinct like Roy does. i will take Roy anyday. Last year in the playoffs Ron Artest said the only person he can’t guard in the league is Roy. Thats big coming from the guy with the biggest ego on the Lakers.

the I in winParticipantCan i have both?

BiggysmallsParticipantBoth would look fabulous in a Twolves Jersey. We should have Roy oh how it pains me to think about it.
I think Johnson is a better defender and shooter. He seems to be more versatile then Roy. When I’ve seen Johnson, he plays well both on and off the ball, he posts, he shoots 3s and he is an excellent passer.
Roy is the 2nd player in the league I’d want with the ball in his hands the last 2 minutes of a close game though. He’s excellent in pick and roll situations, and just isolations from the top of the key. He’s basically a 6’6 point guard. He’s cluth. But he isn’t as effective when he’s not handling the ball.
I don’t think either one is better then the other, both are really good, at alot of different things.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think Biggysmalls said it the best.
It’s a tough choice. I think Johnson definitely has the advantage in size, strength, DEFENSE and the ability to play off the ball. I can’t really say he has the edge in posting up, 3P shooting or passing because Roy is also great in those areas. Roy definitely has the advantage in offensive aggressiveness and the ability to perform in the clutch.
I’d go with Roy because I like players who step up when the game is on the line. Johnson isn’t even the most clutch player on his team right now…
