IndianaBasketballParticipantLlperez22… Could you post this article please? It’s in the rumors section on ESPN.

JNixonParticipantHe could actually be a very good fit for LA…He’s not been as good a scorer this season, but he’d be a nice fit in LA. He’d probably have top pay more attention to detail on the defensive end though for them, similar to his role when he played for Dallas

R-Dot-13ParticipantHarris + Kobe + Gasol = Championship.

Michael.S.ParticipantHe wonldn’t be more effective than Farmar would in the tringle, IMO

JNixonParticipantYea he would, he’s a better scorer than Farmar and a better defender. He plays a similar game to Farmar, but he’s better than him. Even though I think Farmear is underutilized for LA

llperezYesterday, we noted that Devin Harris is one name that could be moved before the trade deadline, as the Nets could be in more of a sell mode to get talent now if don’t think they can land a big-name free agent this offseason.
So might the Lakers be a spot for Harris? On today’s NBA Today podcast with Ryen Russillo, ESPN’s Ric Bucher says they’ve inquired, and the thinking behind it might be they are lacking defense on the perimeter.
NBA Today Podcast
Lakers’ health and perimeter D is a concern“As good as the Lakers can be, I don’t see them being dominant. I know that they inquired about Harris from the Nets, which to me says they are very worried about their perimeter defense and they got to be looking at that Ron Artest for Trevor Ariza trade and going: “God, you know what, Derek Fisher is older than we tought, Jordan Farmar is not a defensive presence, Kobe Bryant is going to be driving one of these wheelies to get up and down the floor here any second, what are we going to do in a situation where we’re playing against a really quick perimeter player, maybe more than one? We’re in tough spot

llperezas for getting harris, yes he would help, but he can’t shoot the three nearly as well as farmar and that is very important. Add in the fact the lakers would probably have to give up somehting nice to get harris and i say just stick with farmar.

JNixonParticipantThey probably would just give up Farmar and some other role players…Harris would be an upgrade over all of the Lakers PG’s. Farmar isn’t a great shooter anyway. I don’t see the Lakers not giving up Farmar if they could get Harris.

llperezi think the nets would want more then farmar and i agree harris is better, but farmar has actually shot around 40% from 3 for 3 straight years. You know in the trianlge the pg does not get to dribble and free lance nearly as much in any other offense and that is what harris’s game is all about. Harris would be better, but i’m a bruin fan and i also dont want to see the lakers give up anything too valuable and shake things up when they are already number 1.

quinceyhodgesthe defense against pg problem has been a problem for yer. i cant rmeber the last time fisher could stop a pg. no one noticed that much because he could hit the three more often but ive always noticed it. we will continue to get burned by good pg but will still win so its not a big issue. harris would be a nice pick up but im not sure his game is really that good for the triangle where we would need him to be able to hit threes

Michael.S.ParticipantLol, yeah…They robbed Pau Gasol, for real, they really did…..If they get Bosh or Harris ,more-so Bosh, I would cry. That would just be unfair

lowryfoyerayParticipantI’ll take Marc Gasol for cheap over an expensive Pau who is walking in a year and a half anyday, especially on a team like memphis that was rebuilding last year. That trade worked out well for both teams, but it seemed like a robbery when it initially happened

fastdanParticipantIn retrospect it turned out to be a pretty good deal for Memphis, but at the time you have to remember Marc had been drafted in the second round 8 months prior and hadn’t played an NBA game yet.

TRC1991Participantif this deal goes through, it will make the lakers the perfect antagonist for the league

DWadeBIWParticipantthat would be nice if he went for the lakers but i can’t see it happening

M-DYMESParticipantHow bout the Cavs give LeBron to the Lakers for Luke Walton and some cash, they get Bosh for a 2nd round pick, Melo for Morrison, Chris Paul for Farmar, and then maybe Dwight for Mbenga. Seriously this is getting ridiculous. LA just robbing these teams and they seem to just give in. Is Phil Jackson doing some voodoo or something, jedi mind tricks? The level of competition in the NBA is really starting to bother me. There are about contenders in this league while 25 other teams are kidding themselves or rebuilding. I love the NBA but Its about time we just have a draft with all the players involved and start this over.
With the first pick in the NBA draft the T-Wolves take LeBron James…but then trade him for the Candy Man and rights to Rubio, and Darko Millic in hopes of taping his LOADS of potential 😉
