Predicting The Rookie/Soph Rosters

sophies are wayyy more talented

They should do east vs west and just combine the best rookies and sophmores. The reason I say this is because the sophmores seem to always be wayy too talented due to a year of seasoning.

This rookie class was weak…when guys like Casspie, Gibson, Jerekbko, and Blair(based on selection spot), make it to the rook-soph game, it tells you something about guys like Thabeet and Hill

i wouldnt say the calls was weak. it wa just weaker as far as big men and fowards. just like this year will be weak from the pg stand point but strong from the pf sf spot

Demar Derozan has 2 be in there …….His team is doing great with him producing . I think its 11-1 when he scores more then 10 pts . Also it will be interesting because he a high flyer . Terrence williams sadly won’t make it. Also Sam Young Has to get some love

gotta put the guys who produce the most and i dont think derozen cuts it. maybe more then some of the big men but hes not a big man

harden should be in over either lawson or jerebko. He is putting up 10 points a game and doing a lot of little things on a playoff quality team.

Harden should not be over Lawson lol.

why do you say lol like it isn’t even close? Harden got off to slow start, but he is scoring as much as lawson and does a lot of other things as well and is on a winning team.

I know Harden didn’t get to start much this season. But Lawson was averaging ridiculous numbers when he was starting. Being the 18th pick and having the production Lawson has had is also worth mentioning.

Though I’d rather have Harden over Gibson, I know the Rookies will be short on the frontcourt, but it’s not like they’re gonna win anyways :]

they play the same minutes and put up the same points and the assists are only off by about 1.5. You could think lawson should be over harden, and it would be hard to argue. I just find it funny when you add “lol” like it’s not even close.

it’s all good. I have harden in my fantasy league and i’ve been tracking him all year and he picked it up after a slow start and I think some people have been sleeping on him. But Lawson is doing work too and I believe he had a sick dunk on my lakers

It’s not close. Lawson plays behind an elite point guard/all-star in Billups, yet he’s putting up very good numbers. He also forced himself into the rotation over, coach favorite, Anthony Carter… Not to mention Karl is known for being hard on rookies. Harden plays behind Theo Sefolosha, who’s a good player, but come on…

What Lawson has done has been more impressive considering he’s playing on a veteran ball club.

harden and lawson play the same minutes and both are on good teams. Harden mainly backs up thabo because of the rotations but more often then not is on the court to finish games. I think I would go with harden over lawson, but it is close.

yeah i agree its close..it doesnt matter who a player is playing behind because whats taken into aount is how the player is producing. and it doesnt really matter about what they do when they start. its all about overall production. if the allstar system took into acount when a player starts or when another good player is hurt then a player like rondo would be a shoe in since he puts up better numbers when one of the big three is hurt. so yeah its closer then people think and lawson could lose the battle because jennings and curry are shoe in’s at the pg position. might end up being a numbers game

I really want to see DeRozan there, this guy has been so reliable and consistent for the Raptors lately + he would put on a show in the Rookie game. It’s just a really strong guard class, so he probably won’t get there

Derozan will not be in the game unless someone begins to think he should be their backup SF and forgets that there are only 9 players allowed on both sides. He has no realistic chance at guard; he would have to make it over one of these players, Tyreke, Jennings, Curry, and Flynn. He would then have to fight it out for votes with Ty Lawson (who has a large following for his production so far) and depending on his play of late, Harden.

Also, Lawson has had a better year so far than Harden, I know Harden does a lot of little things and is not playing bad, but Lawson has had some really amazing games and is on a team that is better, as well as playing behind a great all-star in Billups.

i can understand the playing behind an all-star argument, if lawson was playing less minutes then harden. But he’s not, so who they play behind shouldn’t matter whne they both get the same amount of minutes. And he has had some very good games, but so has harden.

The reason to take into account who someone plays behind a great player is not just because of minutes, It’s also because if the backup is not playing very well, or turning the ball over, especially in the case of young PG’s (Lawson) the coach will be more inclined to put the great player back into the game, or at least someone else to play at the guard spot. Harden has the ability to not have to handle the ball as much and be the decision maker when he is filling in at SG because he is not playing behind someone great and because he is not having to play a crucial position nearly as much.

if it goes by votes then derozen has a MUCH bigger edge then ty because he plays in canada and my guess is that they would vote for him over ty. someone may say “then why bosh isnt a starter” and to that i saw, because he has to compete with other super stars. derozen just has to compete with another rookie who is good but not a world wide super star. and who they play behind/ someone being hurt isnt taken into account. if so alot of 6th men would be playing in the all star game. its not picked by guessing if someone would do this or that if the player infront of them werent there or if someone was hurt. now teams would trade for a player because of that but allstar teams arent picked because of that

They’re putting up similar stats, but Lawson is more efficient. But again it’s just down to preference.

I agree with you 100%.

There’s a chance Lawson won’t make it because there are already so many point guards, but I feel he’s been more consistent than Harden and has had a greater impact so far this season. I’m not saying Harden hasn’t done anything… I just feel what Lawson has done has been more impressive. The numbers don’t fully say how impressive he’s been.

harden or sam young or derozan two of this 3 guys must be there
