Anton123ParticipantOk so, all the predictions about Shannon Brown were right, he is in
The contenders are:
Shannon Brown (good he is in)
Nate Robinson
Gerald Wallace (I was really not expecting this)
Gordon/DeRozanI’m pretty much pleased comparwed to last year, 3 people who we haven’t really see and…. Nate, I’m pretty sick of him to say the truth, but he is the defending champ, so whatever
Being a LeBron fan…… turns out he probably shitted his pants

Tha King2121ParticipantWhat Gordon…not Ben. I cant think of who your talking about
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/18/2010 - 6:49am #248386

PureshooterParticipantI’m sure it’s Eric Gordon.

Tha King2121ParticipantWOrd. i wasnt thinking of him.

Anton123Participantyeah, Eric Gordon
llperez22
Sorry I must’ve said it wrongly, I meant LeBron crapped his pants as in got frightened to participate0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/18/2010 - 6:55am #248391

MagikKnickParticipantGerald Wallace was a big surprise, didnt expect his name to come up
Looking for Derozan to beat out Gordon in the dunk-in
And RealGM said Lebron can still choose to enter, all the way up until the actual day, knowing Lebron he’ll enter in the last minute to make it a show
And im with you, as a Knick fan, im also tired of seeing Nate Robinson, and his 60+ attempts…but he’ll still be the guy im rooting for

JNixonParticipantWhy not Iguodala? And Lebron James?

iceman21Participantim tired of seeing nate in it. he shouldnt have won last year. i think that gordon is gonna lose the dunk in and its because its going to be between Brown and DeRozan.

joecheck88Participanti am extremely disappointed with the field of dunkers. they are all good dunkers but i wanted some big names. shannon brown and derozan are good picks but i wanted j smmove, iggy, or lebron in there with them. i think nate’s fg percentage in the dunk contest is like 40%. gerald wallace is ok but he doesn’t have younger legs like the others. i pick shannon brown to win. his smaller height is an advantage, his large hands are an advantage, and he can take off with 1 foot or both feet equally well, and on top of that he absoluetly jumps out the gym. after brown i got derozan, i hope he brings it friday and saturday night. but imagine if eric gordon wins the dunk off, we will have 3 guys under 6’4 in the dunk contest. that would be like having 4 seven footers in the 3 point contest. the nba needs to find a way to get their stars in these competitions.

apb540ParticipantI have no clue why it posted so many, completley unintentional
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/18/2010 - 11:37am #248445

llperezi don’t think the dunk contest has anything to do with the nba struggling or not. I said a while ago the dunk contest is no longer that interesting and it hasn’t been for a while.

joecheck88Participantits ok you posted it so many times because you are absolutely right, so i gave you a point for each one. but llperez even if the dunk contest has lost some luster, wouldnt u rather see lebron, iggy, j smoove, and j rich than the guys that are in it? I would but oh well.

apb540ParticipantIt could be though. And it used to be so it def has the potential

llperezwith the dunk contest, i’m jusst ehh…whatever. It doesn’t matter who is in it. Yeah I’ll watch it, but i think they should only do it every other year or something because all the dunks have been done and its all about props over dunks. And nate robinson getting a 50 after needing 16 attempts killed it for me. The whole world was feeling embarrased for him for about 5 minutes straight and then bam a 50. Vince was the last guy who tore it up.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe dunk contest isn’t interesting anymore because the best players are no longer participating. It’s not the same… Not like it was in the old days when Dr. J, Jordan, Nique and those types of players were participating and serious as hell about winning it.

dmo21Participantya.. its no good anymore..everything they do will have been seen before, Dwight was the only person that has brought something new to the game, but he is a freak of nature.. I think it would be more exciting to watch if they had the dunk contest like a horse competition, with guys trying to match each others dunks.. Guys would have one chance at the guys dunk, so you would see the same dunk maybe 5 dunks by 5 different guys.. which is better than the same dunk 30 times by one guy.. and only 1 make..

quinceyhodgesi agree..if the stars were in it it would be more interesting. even if they do the same dunk. the fact that its a star doing it adds to the dunk. if you have a star do the same dunk as a 6th man its more exciting to watch the star do it. i could watch vince carter dunk every year if he would have gotten in it ever year. and lebron and kobe. i would have loved to have seen shawn marion in it as well

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhen asked a couple of years ago why he no longer participates in the dunk contest, Kobe said… “Because the NBA never asks me to.”
Maybe the NBA should start asking the stars to participate… That’d be a start to making it more exciting again.

JNixonParticipant“Have not, because you ask not”

marcusfizer21ParticipantLBJ is a coward… He’s a guy who doesn’t know how to keep a promise… It’s been disappointing to hear him back out after arrogantly making an announcement that he’d join the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest in Dallas… I appreciate those players who are man enough to back their words up… The 2010 contestants ain’t that bad… But I would hate it if Nate Robinson, of all people, will win a 3rd SD Crown… I’d never watch the competition ever…

Toronto16ParticipantMeh…. Dunk contest wont be that exciting this year
