Kevin Ding: Kobe 30 points from 25,000. Asked about catching Kareem (38,387 points), Kobe said: “I don’t know how long I’ll play.”

Do think Kobe could even come close to KAB’s point total? Say 35,000?

    ———————————————————————

Bill Simmons: Melo leading NBA at 29.8 PPG, Durant = 29.1 PPG & climbing. Kobe won scoring title at 23 (youngest ever). KD turned 21 two mths ago. Hmmmmm.

Edit: He meant McGrady not Kobe….

So do you think Durant will get that record?

    ——————————————————————-

Brian Windhorst: LeBron on playing for the Clippers: “I have no thoughts on that.” Over 20 hours ago.

Arash Markazi: Saw a few LeBron James Clippers shirts tonight. Sorry guys, he’s not coming to a team more cursed than Cleveland

That pretty much sums it all up. He won’t go to Clipperland.

    —————————————————————–

Holly McKenzie: #3 Beaubois on the court. Last time I saw him play was in LV against Jennings when a fan told BJ, “you’re not even the best #3 on the court”

That said do any of you think Beaubois can be better than Jennings?

    —————————————————————-

Jennings is in the skills challenge along with Rose and 2 others to be announced later..Do you think Jennings can win?

i think kobe will get 35,000 points. he is on pace to finish this season at over 26,000. He has put up 2k+for the last 5 seasons. If he averages about 25 a game and avoids any serious injuries, that would give him 2k minimum each season and that means he would have to do that for about 4 1/2 more seasons and he will pass 35k. Factor in some injuries and he should defenitley do it the next 5-6 years and then retire shortly after.

sure they could. Lot’s of things would work out health wise. That’s the thing, if you average between 25-30 points, that gives you about 2,000 – 2500 points a season. If you look at the guys on top with Kareem and Malone, they played about 20 seasons and were almost never injured. But they weren’t scoring at a higher rate then what guys like kobe, lebron or durant are. But that’s a long time to stay healthy.

I think Kobe will fall just short of 35K. I think as age and injuries catch up in the next few seasons, he’ll fall just short.

I honestly think Durant is the best scorer in the NBA, and I see him leading the NBA in scoring either next season or 2011-2012. So yes, I see him getting the scoring title at 23.

Lebron said he’s not talking about free agency so of course he’s not going to give a direct answer. I think the Clippers are a legit darkhorse team in the Lebron sweepstakes…

Beaubois will develop into a good player. Probably a Tony Parker type, but with 3-point range on his jumper. Could be scary, but he won’t be the player Jennings will be. I think Jennings will be a top 3 PG in the NBA by his 3rd season.

I like Jennings to win the Skills Challenge. It’ll be between him and the reigning champ, Derrick Rose.

I just calculated LeBrons point total when he’s 31(or the last year of his prime) and I got 28,851….I estimated him to avg. 28 ppg for 80 games over the next 6 seasons and added his current point total….

i dont think lebrons prime will end at 31, unless a serious injury derails his career i see him dominating for a while into his thierties

Beaubois can actually be better than Jennings. He has all the same raw abilities plus he can shoot. It will take time for him to learn to be as good a playmaker but he is learning from Kidd.
