Dhamp2ParticipantYou’re right. They beat my Denver Nuggets last night. I hate how they never give Nene the ball. Anyway, teams can’t double team Gerald Wallace anymore because of Stephen Jackson. Furthermore, since Wallace was never really a number 1 option, the team now has one in…..Stephen Jackson.
Dhamp2….the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.
1. Throw back Scoonie Penn
2. Gilbert Arenas owes half of his paycheck to Larry Hughes, who was the number 1 option in Washington until he bolted to Cleveland for $48 mil.
3. How the heck does Steve Nash Have 2 MVPs and Kobe 1. That’s the biggest conspiracy in NBA history.
4. If you wasn’t on the Wesley Johson bangwagon this time last year (when I brought him to this Website and dubbed him a lottery pick) please don’t jump on it.
5. Dr. J was the first Michael Jordan.0- Posted on: Wed, 12/09/2009 - 2:31pm #236982

DeLaQuestParticipantI live and work in the Charlotte area. The Bobcats have a small but loyal core of fans. They started out with a lousy TV package, so a lot of basketball fans around the state could not easily watch their games. I think there are still some issues in that regard.
But the fans who DO attend Bobcat games get to experience NBA basketball in a fantastic downtown arena. And they get to see one of the best players to experience live: Gerald Wallace. He is Michael Jordan and Dr. J within 12 feet of the basket. In addition, GW hustles and defends with a relentless athleticism. The last I checked, he was leading the NBA in rebounding as a 6’7″ small forward. I think that says it all.
As far as free agents, there IS a general attitude that Charlotte can’t attract a big name. And they’ve drafted rather poorly. So they’ve had to engineer this current team with a few very good trades.
Through a series of trades over a few years, Brandan Wright, Jared Dudley, and Adam Morrison have been eventually converted to Boris Diaw , Stephen Jackson, and a backup PG(Acie Law). This, along with originally grabbing Gerald Wallace in the expansion draft, has been their salvation.

DeLaQuestParticipantAnother issue with grabbing a free agent is the fact that the Bobcats are for sale. I just don’t see Bob Johnson pursuing any big money guys. I think this had something to do with unloading Emeka Okafor’s contract for Tyson Chandler–who has not panned out well so far. Thankfully, Nazr Mohhamed has breathed new life into his own game.
