JoeWolf1Craig Brackins was listed as high as #6 on the mock draft this summer and I kept losing points trying to tell people he is not as good as everybody thinks he is. I kept saying his stock would plummit and he would be a 15-25 pick in the 2010 draft. Just an update on last nights Iowa State loss to MVC opponent Northern Iowa. Craig Brackins failed to score a feild goal in the 2nd half of the game ending up with 13 points and 9 rebounds as Iowa State falls to 6-2 with wins over Chicago State, Idaho State, Mississippi Valley State, Tennesse State and Drake with losses to Northwestern and now Northern Iowa. In ISU’s first 8 games Brackins is averaging 16.6 ppg 7.8 rpg and 2.1 apg. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think Brackins is a complete bum, I think he is a solid, versitile and a NBA bench player, but you can’t throw a guy who plays for a terrible team in the top 10 on a mock because he has a huge game against a pretty solid team who made it to the sweet 16. Even Aran finally had wisened up and has him down to 14 now, but watch his stock continue to fall this season. I just had to get that off my chest

JNixonParticipantEvery time I watch him, I think of Charlie Villanueva. He’s going to be a good offensive player in the NBA, but he’s not quite strong or tough enough to defend much. He should be a lottery pick, top 20 at least though. He’s probably going to be 2nd or (most desirably) 3rd option.

JoeWolf1Yeah, Villanueva I can see, I always thought a poor man’s Sheed. I still think this draft is too strong at PF for him to go lottery, ISU is going to be sitting at home when other PF’s are improving their stock in the NCAA’s

JNixonParticipantVery true, but you have to remember that he will be competing against other big-time players in off-season camps and in the combine so he’ll have plenty of chances to prove him worth, especially if he tests out well…

JoeWolf1Thats true, he isn’t overly atheltic though, he is pretty long, but I think for him to be taken in the lottery in his situation he’d need to be a better athlete. If he drops 42 on Kansas THIS year then he may put himself back into lotto talk. lol

getacombi think he has great potential, lets not forget he is on IOWA ST, look what wesley johnson is doing after transfering to cuse, straight ballin. if brackins had a better supporting cast i dont think you would be saying the same thing. also i think he is way more athletic than charlie v,
