Oh, and Not like Milicic has a choice…I dont see any team picking him

He has all the physical tools to be one of the top big men in the league
He just lacks the hustle, desire, and work ethic to succeed in the NBA
Sad really…

To some degree, Milic has a point. He was a young kid who only wanted to play basketball but ended up being caught up in the NBA worldwind of GMs and NBA execs looking for the next big thing. Also, it just so happened that he was drafted be the Detriot Pistons, which at the time was a good verteran team with leadership such as Billups and Hamilton.

However, I’m still not sure Darko would have been. He’s had plenty of time to regroup and has had a chance to play. It just didn’t pan out for him. He wasn’t good enough, not even before he went to New York.

Well, don’t cry for me Argentina!!! He’s making $7mil this year. If I was him, I wouldn’t play at all, lol. I’d tour the country with models, chill at the beach and eat a bunch of fruit. That way, I’d be the most interesting man in the world.

i was expecting him to be what he is. didnt like him overseas and he didnt do that well over there either plus i was pissed that he got drafted ahead of carmelo which was one of the dumbest moves from dumars ever. he probably doesnt have no other option but go overseas

I think most basketball people agree that Milicic is very gifted physically. He’s 7 feet tall, he weighs around 275 pounds, he can run the court, and he can jump. I mean there were good reasons why Joe Dumars took him number 2 in the draft.

However, he’s a guy who’s never been given an opportunity to play significant minutes every night. Many of those reasons weren’t under his control but over time, Milicic hmust accept his fair share of responsibility.

However, when Milicic did have opportunities to play, he showed flashes of brilliance but never maintained them. He was very inconsistent. I for one would love to finally see a coach say I have this physically gifted big man on my bench and I’m going to tell him he will play 24 to 30 minutes every night for the next 6 weeks and we’ll find out what he can do. Over the years I’ve seen many players transformed by the opportunity to play regularly when they don’t have to worry about being yanked out of the game if they make a mistake or two.

That brings me to D’Antoni. He’s coaching a team with a 6 foot 9 inch center whom I love, but he’s just too short for the NBA. Lee belongs at power forward. In addition, the Knicks are out rebounded just about every game they play. Why doesn’t he put Milicic at center, move David Lee to PF and give it an extended try to see how it works out. What does he have to lose?
