LOPEZ VS ODEN

Lopez is more developed Offensively then Oden. Oden is a great defender but right now, Lopez can twist and turn Oden many ways to get him to a awkward position inside.

CDR can score but what can he do? Is he one of those JR Smith type guys?

Amazingly enough, CDR is doing better then most expected and better then his former Teammate D. Rose. & OMG stupid Cincy…just lost

cdr plays pretty good defense and gets 5rebs a game…cant ask for much more out of a second year player. oden is a good shot blocker but has trouble with good centers. much better against not so good big men

Yea Lopez is much better than Oden right now, and I have a feeling he’ll always be. He may never be the defensive wiz Oden is and can be, but he’s probably always gonna be more skilled and effective offensively. I like Lopez over Oden here.

lopez is a way better overall player than oden. the only thing oden has on him is being athletic but this guy lopez will be dominant and will dominate oden forever. the question i have about oden is how can this guy win rings and dominate when he gets outplayed in every bigman matchup?

That’s at the very minimum, 15 minutes Oden wasn’t guarding Lopez, minimum.

Efficiency wise, it was pretty close, but 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks is pretty damn impressive in 25 minutes. He led the Blazers in scoring, and they also got the win…6 offensive rebounds…4/5 from the line…7/11 from the field. Efficient.

And once again he got the win. I don’t see what you’re all talking about to be honest.

u guys must be joking? Lopez didnt kick Oden’s ass!! an ass kicking is whut Reginald Denny & Rodney King received!! And whut John McCain got last year!!! Oden had 18 points-8 rebounds & 4 blocks ..He did great considering the fact he only played 25 minutes….I bet Portland would look
at u as if u were an alien if u told them to trade Oden for Lopez….

ODen was close by efficiency , and expect of fouls he is MORE effeciency this season with team WINNING and nets LOSING EVERY GAME..
plus Brook is way more “developed” but still has some from 30/10/3 to 5/3/1 games..
IMO..if i’m looking for the future and for more wins i definitely would take GREG

Being in Portland right now and seeing the game, all I saw was the Nets dumping it down to Lopez as their first and pretty much only offensive option. In the meantime, the Blazers did not have much hesitation in dumping the ball down to Oden against Brook. Reason being? Well, I do not know if people have been watching lately, but, even for Greg’s well documented limitations on the offensive end, no one can stop him. He and Brook went back and forth, and Brook just so happened to be able to shoot at will. 32 points on like 26 shots is not necessarily killing a person. Brook has a smooth offensive game and a beautiful touch, he has since college, and I am not surprised with how well he has done in the league. But, he has definite limitations defensively, and even in the power game that are big advantages for Greg down the road. Also, Greg gets fouls due to his teams inability to play help defense at this point. Brook on the other hand, is not even close to the defender that Greg is, even putting aside that he is leading or near the top of the league in blocked shots. The Nets are a bad defensive team, really bad, and the fact that Brook blocks shots covers up his inclusion in the problem. Greg got past him numerous times for easy baskets, and when you shoot 7-11, chances are you were not being adequately challenged. Greg just straight up does not have to take 26 shots for his team to have a chance at winning, and if he were on New Jersey, dude would be getting 30 point games because of the Nets total lack of anyone inside. I for one as a Blazer fan am very happy to have Greg and think that down the road, he is going to be a much better option than Brook. As soon as Brooks team wins a game, give me a call. All I know is that Greg Oden wins basketball games, and as soon as his teams defense even comes close to matching his intensity on that end of the floor, watch out.

“Did anyone watch the game?” That’s a great question. The statements and comments of a few posters on here leave me consistently baffled. You’ll soon realize (like I did a long time ago) that by expecting majority of the posters to look at basic stats and common logic, you’re actually only setting your ownself up for disappointment. Quite a few people on here seriously love to thrive on the negative regardless of basic stats.

Like you… I don’t see what they’re talking about. Lopez had a very good game, but he’s the go-to offensive player on a 0-15 team. Oden on the other hand is becoming the 3rd option on a stacked 12-5 team. Two different players on two different teams and with two completely different roles.

Lopez played 40 minutes and took 25 (>TWENTY FIVE<) shots. He'd have better scored 32. Anybody looking at Oden's stat line and productivity, and thinks he got his ass "whipped" doesn't have a lot of common sense.

why and tezo you guys are spot on. oden played 8 minutes in the first half because of nates 2 foul in the first half you sit rule so oden wasnt even guarding lopez much in the first half. the blazers even went small and had alderidge guarding him which pretty much let lopez do what he wanted too. its true that lopez had a good game and put some moves on oden but in no way was oden killed or even embarrassed by lopez last night. at this point oden is still learning his way around the basket on offense, pretty much being limited to his hook or a spin move. but he is also much farther ahead offensively than any of us new and is ready to step up and be the 3rd option. he is in no way polished offensively but is already at times dominant. watching him push his way around chicagos bigs was a joke. the haters are getting worried..who are you going to bash now?

mickythedon knows his stuff too that looked like a fun game to be at i watched it on tv. i cant help it but my eyes follow oden around the court for the 10 minutes a game he is in

and lopez is still better in my opinion:)..and hes more efficient and a better rebounder and he gave oden the business while getting him in foul trouble..ya’ll can come up with any excuse you like but who’s fault is it that oden get his self in foul trouble?..need to raise that defense of basketball IQ. not that it really matter because ANDREW BYNUM is better then both

I didn’t watch this game but half of yall are saying Oden played well while the other half is saying Lopez dominated Oden.  So which story should I believe haha?  Regardless of what happened in this game I would take Oden over Lopez anyday.  I haven’t watched Bynum play at all this year but apparently he is playing well.  I’m not sure who I would take between Oden & Bynum right now. 

between Oden, bynum, and Lopez, you could make an argument for any of the three for who will have the best career. All bias aside, I would take Bynum. He is bigger and more physical then Lopez and he has WAY more offensive moves then Oden. Bynum has great hands and footwork despite being a large and physical center. His combination of skills, size, and athleticism is the best of the 3. But like I said, you could make a great argument for all 3 and the center position looks bright with those guys all going after Dwight’s status as the number 1 center for the future.

Oden needs to raise his defensive IQ lol? He’s not the one who got taken out of the game by his coach for missing defensive rotations Quincey. That was Andrew Bynum. And apparently Bynum is being slowed down by another injury right now… This time to his ankle. Big fella just can’t stay healthy.

Keep hating on Oden. Like Dtay2152 said… The haters are getting worried lol.
