gatorheelsParticipantMan Wall needs to shoot that pull up midrange jumpshot more often. He can be deadly if he shoots that shot consistently. I would rather see him take that shot then try to take it to the hole 1 on 3 & eventually turn it over. He looks like he has pretty good form on his jumper. That three pointer he just shot that hit the side of the backboard was ugly though haha.

quincey hodgesif he could make it more consistently im sure he would but since he can score going to the whole so far he will probably continue to do that untill someone stops him. hes looking nice today. you see the common theme yet between uk and guards that shoot very well against them. they play bad pick and roll defense and lose there man alot when they move without the ball

gatorheelsParticipantStanford is ballin. I’m surprised Kentucky is having so much trouble with them. Not because I think Kentucky is so good but because I thought Stanford didn’t have much talent this year.

quincey hodgesshouldnt be. if you watched some of the other games kentucky has had problems with every team except the blow out win they had the other day. to beat uk so far this year you just gotta keep it half court and (something i said before) play a zone because they aren’t a good shooting team. and move without the ball because they have trouble when players do that. and if you are a guard that can shoot and create you’re own shot then you can have a good game, becoming a habit that someone just “happens” to get hot against them. if this doesnt get fixed before playing some good ncaa tourney teams then they will be in trouble

gatorheelsParticipant"becoming a habit that someone just "happens" to get hot against them"
yeah that is true. You would figure Wall & Bledsoe (even Miller) would be able to play above average defense due to their length & athletic ability. Part of it is them not understanding what to do. Still something isn’t right. Calipari may be holding them back some. I heard he hasn’t really even taught defense much at all during practices haha…that is showing.

JNixonParticipantI agree with that Quincey. They are a mediocre offense team at best in half court and only have one or 2 decent shooters. They could have trouble with a tough, and cerebral team like a Wisconsin or Stanford in the tourny if they have to face someone like that. Similar to how a less talented, but smarter Wisconsin team beat the Mike Beasley and Bill Walker-led Kansas State.

QHaynes20that last foul was a tad bs
0 - Posted on: Wed, 11/25/2009 - 6:49pm #233181
quincey hodgestheres a couple of calls that were bs the flagrant foul was also bs. i said while ago that when stanford meets a good mid or average high major conference team they will be in trouble because they would be smart enough and have the players to play zone and because kentucky’s d isn;t the best

quincey hodgeswow they gave ramon the foul then dont call it the other way. but thats the way it goes sometimes. win or lose kentucky has problems

JNixonParticipantJohn Wall is a pretty good defender from what I’ve seen this year, most of the time.

quincey hodgesyeah hes a pretty good on the ball defender. hes quicker then every guy he defends. would like to see how it is when someone has good skills. the uconn game will test that. but wall played very well. the one knock is the same, the turnovers. he had about 5. if they play like this against unc then its gonna be a very very long night for uk

quincey hodgesi was impressed by my new favorite college team though..really gonna miss that landry kid. hes a baller..hes actually averaging 23 and 9 so this wasn’t a fluke or hot shooting

QHaynes20Well, I was not impressed.
Duke needs to step it up. I think we need to move to a Smith-Dawkins backcourt. Scheyer is good, very good but he need to be our 6th man.
Also, Ryan Kelly needs to step it up. I’m liking how Miles Plumlee is looking but Kelly was kinda non-existing.
I hope we land Roscoe Smith and then we will have Smith, Ivring, Thornton, Hairston and then Seth Curry? Woo.

quincey hodgesdawkins isnt nearly as good as schyer right now and schyer makes very good decisions. would be a very big mistake to make him a 6th man which im sure coach k know thats why he hasnt done it. not really sure if you meant to put this in a duke chat forum though since that is kinda left field from this topic
