festar35ParticipantWhat are your thoughts on Marcus Thornton? How good do you think this guy could be and who does he remind you of?

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe was indeed a 2nd round steal and Byron Scott/Hornets knew it and had their eye on him all along. I thought he should’ve gotten drafted late in the 1st round.
He’s very undersized (slighlty under 6′ 4″) at the two guard spot with short arms and average athleticism, but I think he has the chance to be a good scorer as a role player or in a supporting role. He’s a good shooter and plays very well off the ball. He’s still working on his handle and ability to create his own shot off the dribble. I don’t know who he reminds me of… Maybe a shorter armed/less athletic Rashad Mccants.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI honestly was hoping the Rockets would get him instead of Taylor…

festar35ParticipantJust saw a comparison of him to Jason Terry and Deshawn Stevenson.

QHaynes20they got 2 steals IMO.
Collision at 21? I feel he had the skill last season until Derrick Rose mad him look bad. He could have been the 2nd or 3rd PG drafted.
Thornton was a mega steal because he was talked about going round 1 at 21 and to get him at round 2 was amazing.
It makes me feel that teams are gonna begin to value 2nd round picks more.

JNixonParticipantI thought Thornton was the best shooter in college basketball last year, and he had a dribble drive game. He reminds me of Willie Green more than any other player. But him and Collison were both steals, and they are going to be good rotation players, Collison has the potential to be one of the best off-the-bench PG’s in basketball.
