valentineAll these dumb posts about if Jennings a superstar is just pointless. yeahhh Brandon jennings had a great 8 games (without michael redd, getting 32 mpg, shooting 18 shots per game, and being the #1 scoring option), but in no way does it mean that he is going to be a superstar. I think the big test is if michael redd comes back, and Jennings still puts up the stats he is now. Personally, I think this is good as he will ever be. Similar to OJ Mayo, improvement will be extremely slow for the rest of the season and for years to come. Last year after Mayo started the season with 21 ppg, people were comparing him to LBJ, but now after a whole season of improvement he is at Pts 18.0 Reb 4.8 Ast 2.9. These stats are still really good, but definitely not what people were hoping at the beginning of last year.(Similar to Jennings)

BasketBalAllanParticipantI think you are right in saying that the real test is when Redd comes back and Jennings is no longer getting all the shots and possessions, but I think that he has more upside than Mayo does just due to the fact that he can see the court and can find his teammates. I do think Jennings will be a good PG in the league, but for me the verdict is still out for at least another year on whether or not he will be a great one.

bigbusinessParticipantWhy does everybody continue to disrespect this dude?
Do you not want to see him do good?Michael Redd?
he still can shoot but he’s washed up.
Brandon Jennings is their leader and best player as a rookie. How is he not a superstar?

rickyD510Participantthe thing about jennings is he has to put up those numbers for his team to win or even be close to winning and others like tyreke and ty lawson is their teams are more well rounded and they dont need scoring from one guy. for example last night tyreke evans had his points and touches in the first half then the scoring came from others like beno, nocioni and thompson but towards the end they needed a finisher and gave it to tyreke. it seems like jennings needs to start the game off and finish it off cuz redd’s injured

WhyParticipantThis website is so frustrating, Jennings has played in not even 10 games! Give him time, you cannot be a superstar after ten games in the league. You haven’t even played 1/3rd of the teams yet! Come on this is ridiculous. I’ve noticed there really isn’t anyone on this forum who dislikes Brandon Jennings a lot, there are just myriad amounts of people who are lauding him for minimal accomplishments. Yes he is a very good basketball player, but give him time before we say “superstar” there are very few superstars in the league…
Jennings is definitely better than Mayo though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/14/2009 - 9:46am #229719

rickyD510Participantbut by all means at this point jennings is most impressive and at this rate will get ROY
(u cant dub any rookie a superstar 6 games into the season)0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/14/2009 - 9:57am #229738
arc1212Participanthe’s just playing his game, and he’s doing a hell of a job
look at what he has around him…not too much
don’t hate on him b/c he’s having success and what can you do if people say he has superstar potential? b/c after these last couple of games it pretty much looks like that to me
so he’s not winning at a ridiculous amount…he’s a rookie! he’s doing what he can to make things happen
why are people knocking mayo as well? he’s a great player and with the potential to be a superstar as well0- Posted on: Sat, 11/14/2009 - 10:13am #229741

knicks82Participanthis numbers will come down, for numerous reasons. But I think the main reason will be the fact that he doesnt exactly have the NBA body yet. And he didnt play much at all overseas last year. I really think the 82 games and traveling are gonna take its toll on him this year. But he is a hell of a player, I wish the Knicks had taken him.

lalailaParticipantDerrick Rose – future super star, top PG in few years(even over CP) HOF…i remember that kind of posts after last season, now people just fall in love with Jennings, i see more and more people who loving him even more than Rose..
I love his game, his stats is terrific if he can keep it all this season he could a star from year one, but however Bucks is one of worse teams in the NBA IMO and i still don’t like things like that ” Jennings is better than MAyo” “he Has more upside”…0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/14/2009 - 10:23am #229746

butidonthavemoneybigbusiness I gave you a negative point. Because you asked why people were being disrespectful, and then you called Michael Redd washed up.

JJeff6ParticipantI think Brandon jennings will be an all-star in the league for years to come, i really dont know why he was drafted earlier to be honestw ith you

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s why I’ve lost a lot of respect for a few posters on here who said, after TEN games, that Jennings will be better than Rose by the end of the season. After watching Rose perform for a whole season, win rookie of the year and play his ass off in the playoffs versus the defending champs, it took a few posters only ten games to say Jennings will be better than Rose by the end of this season. Jennings has the talent and potential to be an elite point guard eventually, but talk about a smack in the face…

TyroberParticipantjennings is the best player ever to play ever EVER
“edit”
this was clearly a joke and i get minus 6 points from it. screw u guys for not being able to take a joke

MkadozaParticipantNo Tezo, it took all of 6 games for them to declare Jennings BETTER than Rose, the reigning rookie of the year in one of the deepest classes in recent memory. No one is hating, people are just being sensible. How many hot starts have players had in any season? How many of those have panned out into HoF career’s? Its just being reasonable and logical, and not getting caught up in the moment.

B-ball fanParticipantI do believe he is the top point guard taken in this years draft, which I said before the seasont. But it is too early to judge any of the rookies much more than before they were in the NBA. Wait until mid-season to pass hard judgement, like him being better than Rose. Unyil then take it game for game.

quincey hodgeshat made no sense “jennings has to put up those points for them to win”..all the stars of there team have to put up the points that they do in order for there teams to win..duh..just like other players have to rebound like they do for the team to win and coaches have to coach for the teams to win…and then say evans doesnt cuz his team is more balanced…how do you know that since evans has been scoring and they win?..has he not score much and the team won?..nope and youre saying it like evans is scoring 30 or something..hes only scoring 20ppg ..and he did play with micheal redd before he was hurt and if im not mistaken he played pretty well. and then the ” taking 18 shots a game and playing 36 min and being the number 1 scoring option..really ..isnt that what youre best player is suppossed to do?..then too say this is as good as he will ever be..lol..now thats just blame dumb because he isnt perfect and has room to improve in other areas…whats funny is some of the same people on here where saying rose is gonna be this and that as a rookie but no one said hes overrated..then you have over sensative people on here who act like rose is there family and think just because someone thinks jenning is better then you must be hating on rose..so if i think jennings is better then mike conley am i hating on conley too?..everyone is entitled to there opinion and just because you dont agree with them doesnt mean they are hating….now do i think jennings is better then rose ..no..not right now because rose has played awhole season but i do think he will be better then rose and if this was jennings second year i would say hes better then rose, but right now im giving rose the respect because hes played a season…and people stop saying “he played very well against the defending champs in the playoffs” because yes he played well but he also got his azz handed too him and that boston team wasnt the team that won the title the prior year. we all know they are a much different team without garnett

IndianaBasketballParticipantHypocrite. Use the same logic you use for Rose vs Jennings that you use for Bynum vs Oden. You said that Oden will never catch Bynum even though Bynum has four years under his belt compared to Oden’s one because it’s not like Bynum won’t be improving. The same goes for Rose. You act like Rose won’t be improving as Jennings is. You’re a hypocrite lol.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/14/2009 - 8:31pm #229914
quincey hodgesno thats called my opinion..theres a difference..you need to stop taking thi so personal..rose doesnt know you or care about you just like jennings doesnt know or care about me so why would i get to the point of calling people names because they dont agree with me?..when someone doesnt agree with you they are a hater or hypocrite or have no basketball knowledge?..well if it makes you feel better to call me and others names because we dont agree with you fine, but its not gonna chance mine nor anyone’s else opinion about jennings being better then rose..you can either do like everyone else and agree or disagree and deal with it or you can get made and call people names ..its youre choice

IndianaBasketballParticipantNow you’re getting sensitive lol. You sure don’t act sensitive when you’re going at Clippers’ head about his squad or when you consistently call that other kid bum sauce and talk about how he couldn’t get a scholarship. Now, you’re sitting there crying because I call you out and say that you’re a hypocrite and have lame points.

quincey hodgesi could care less which is why im not calling names. anytime you see someone in a arguement or a debate you can always tell the one whos getting sensitive about it because they are the ones that start cursing or name calling..everyone knows that…and i go at clippers because all ummer he talked about how good the clippers were while down playing anyone else who was doing well..and bum sauce because in the beginning i offerred to help him get looked at untill he started saying how john wall is a bum and other guys who were in the draft and how he was better then everyone then saying how sorry my nephew was..i have no probblem with people pumping there self up but i do have a problem when they have to put someone down just to build there self up..not sure how other feel about that but it just doesnt sit well with me..so thats the reaon i go at them liek i do or others who do that..if you look at my post you will notice people who do that are the only ones i go after..gotta look deeper then just the surface to get where im comming from..just liek the hypocrite thing…i understand that the years bynum has been in the nba helps him be better then oden but i dont like when people constantly use that as an excuse liek thats the only reason bynum is better ut like the kareem thing..its down playing the hard work bynum put in because he wasnt really that good when he first came into the leauge..its a milder case of some people putting bynum down to build oden up. and i use the one year thing with rose and jennings because even though in myopinion i think jennings well be better in the future im giving rose the respect of his rookie of the year last year and great play last year so im not gonna just hand jennings the being better right now…does it make more sense now thati explained it more?

but remember guys.. “he cant shoot”
haha what a joke.0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/15/2009 - 6:27am #230008
quincey hodgeslol..in hs he was a streaky shooter although some people made him seem worst then he really wa..his shooting numbers werent that good in europe but no one took into account that he didnt get to shoot enough if he started out 0-2 or 0-3 unlike now where the coach will let him shoot through it plus all that practice time wit assistant coachs really helped him alot..europe is a very good option for players with talent who need some fine tuning or be brought down to earth if they have a big head. all that practive time and individual teaching would really help guys like sydney, cousins,d.jordan, lance, favors more then college would because they make you learn other ways to score rebound and play defense other then using youre natural ability..the coachs rule is “it doesnt mater if you do something and score or play defense or rebound, it matters that you do it the right way and score, rebound, defense
