JoeWolf1Deron Williams and Ronny Price have minor injuries and will most likely sit out tonight. That leaves rookie Eric Maynor to start tonight vs the Celtics. He hasn’t played much this season, how do you guys think he’ll do?

TyroberParticipanthes a rookie going up against one of the top teams in basketball and an allstar pg in rondo. best of luck to him

butidonthavemoneyWe are soooooo screwed. Why can we just start Brewer, or AK at PG?!?!?!?!?

JoeWolf1Yeah, Boston is a tough assignment for a rookie pg, trial by fire I guess. He’s gotta keep his head, get the ball to Memo and Boozer and not try to do too much. Rondo is a real tough defensive assignment for him though, Maynor isn’t very tall, nor does he have a long armspan, but he is fairly quick. best of luck rook.

butidonthavemoneyD-Will is going to play. A little pain won’t stop him. Trust meh. (PleasePleasePleasePleasePleasePleasePlease)
I’ve always liked Maynor, but if how he defends Rajon Rondo like he defended Ty Lawson in the season opener, we really don’t stand a chance.
On the other hand, I’ve always liked Maynor. Great leadership, can score, dish and defend. If he does start, it’s like you said, he should just feed the ball to Booze on every play.

JNixonParticipantYea, I’ve never been a big Eric Maynor guy. He’s screams 3rd PG to me…

MagikKnickParticipantAh, I actually like him a little bit, but this is a disaster waiting to happen
Rajon Rondo, the NBA steals leader, is gonna rip the rookie apart…
But whos behind him? Whos gonna come in as the 2nd PG?

the barronParticipantWes Matthews. Undrafted rookie from Marquette. Seriously, hopefully Price or Williams suits up for this one because the Jazz aren’t winning with Maynor starting tonight. I was a Maynor fan when he was at VCU and was pleased when my Jazz picked him, and I feel he will be a solid back up for years, but he isnt ready yet.

MagikKnickParticipantQuick! Make a trade for Chris Duhon…….please?

butidonthavemoneyWesley Matthews is not a PG, nor does he have PG skills. Ronnie Brewer played point guard in college and has point guard skills (although his lack of confidence hurts him in this regard). Kirilenko has also had a fair amound of minutes playing point guard, he is one of the most gifted passers in the NBA IMO, alongside with Jason Kidd and Manu Ginobili. One of those two players will back up Maynor, IF, and only if, Deron Williams doesn’t play.

JNixonParticipantYea, I think they should let Brewer run the point. He’s got better PG skills than 2-guard skills anyway IMO. He looked good running the point in college anyway

JoeWolf1Williams played the other night, but Maynor started tonight, 13 points 11 assists a steal and only 2 turnovers in a Utah win, what do you guys think?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 8:11pm #229602

JNixonParticipantLou Williams plays ZERO defense…it was ridiculous. But really, no one did their job rebounding or defending for Philly. That’s why Utah blew them out
