So last year, after the touted high school junior at thatthe time Perry Jones committed to Baylor, i started watching Baylor bball. One guy on that team stood out to me, and his name is Quincy Acy. Although he was only avg like 5 or 6 pts a game, i was blown away by his athleticism. I know he is still raw, and has yet to learn how to shoot, but he is improving. this year he has the highest fg percentage in college bball, but its simply bc he dunks almost on every shot. anyways what do you guys think about him?

Also, lets say both Udoh and Dunn both decided not to declare for NBA, i think you would have to consider baylor as a final 4 material next year. the incoming freshman love is a pretty decent PG who would fit right in for the graduating tweety carter. dunn would be big 12 player of the year candidate. udoh would be dominating in the inside. acy would be doing his role picking up rebounds and dunking. perry jones might be freshmen of the year in the big 12. they have depth also. anthony jones would be a pretty good back up PF/C. If both freshmen guards watson and dennis continue to grow next year, this team would be dangerous. everyone watch out!

I watch a lot of Big 12 Ball and Acy has load of the dreaded word “potential” because of his freakish athleticism. If he were 6’10” he’d be a top 10 pick on this website for 2011, but because he is only 6’7” he needs to improve his jumpshot a great deal as well as his offensive moves. His athleticism alone will make him a 2nd round pick in the mold of Stephen and Joey Graham ( minus the freak strength ) but he could be a Gerald Wallace type player if he really worked on his game.

I like them for a deep run, but I don’t like their potential matchup with Notre Dame. I think that is a game the could drop, but if they make it past the Irish then, yeah, they could really do some damage. Scott Drew is a very good coach and a good recruiter, Baylor, A&M, Tech and Colorado are some Big 12 teams on the rise.

I have them in the final four. They will beat ND and Dook IMO. Perry Jones is an animal, might be the best freshman next year. Him or Sullinger, with Barnes and Selby also bieng huge impact players I think. If they get Udoh and Dunn back, they are my favorite for the national championship. Nolan Dennis will be a good player for them, and Stargell Love is ready to be a backup right now I think. Anthony Jones is long as they come, and with Perry Jones, they have the potential to be the best Jones frontcourt combo in the nation. Haha i dont think thats a stretch at all.

Just for the sake of arguement, do you see more of Kevin Durant or John Henson in Perry Jones??

I’m scared of Baylor. I was when Kansas State played them both times this year. They seriously don’t have very many weaknesses out there. I have them going to the Final 4 this year, and I think they will next year. LaceDarius Dunn also has an amazing name, and he’s fun to watch. Very crafty scorer who can get his slow,ugly-looking jumper off whenever he wants to like he just has the quickest release ever. It’s pretty cool.

Quincey Acy is a freak show athletically. He’s very strong, aggressive, and has alot of length too. He’s a dunk machine. Unfortunately, he’s a poor back-to-basket scorer and he has no real shooting skills. He blocks shots, rebounds, and dunks. That’s probably not going to be enough at his size, even though he if he improves his offensive game somewhat and gets productive.

I think the best sleeper prospect on their team is Anthony Jones. He has BIG scoring potential, and he’s a 6’10” wing player, so he has mismatch potential…

If Acy can improve on his offence he will be a beast, as for now i only see him as a role-impact kinda player, but as people have pointed out, if Udoh and Dunn stay, Baylor will be beasting next year for sho…..

I think Baylor is a scary team THIS year and if everyone stays, they will be a preseason top 5, IMO. And even if Udoh leaves, they will have the lanky Jones’ there to take his place. LaceDarius Dunn is a go to scorer and they are overall a very good team and is my sleeper pick for the Final Four. As a matter of fact, this is my favorite 3 seed since Syracuse in 2003 when they won it all.
