NBA Comparison: Darrell Armstrong

James Burbridge – 8/15/2006

Strengths: Plays smothering on the ball defense … He best attribute is by far his defense … Second in steals behind Mario Chalmers with 76, but Chalmers plays the passing lane more while Robinson stays more on the ball pressuring the ball handler the entire length of the court … All Big 12 Defensive first team … Led the team in assists his first full year running the team with 152 … Shows the ability to run the PG position … Honorable Mention All Big 12 selection … Third on the team in scoring at 9.3 ppg. Decent rebounder for a PG, hauling down thee boards a game … Heady player, makes good decisions with the ball … His excellent assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.08 was good for second in the Big 12.

Weaknesses: At 6-1, just a little on the smallish side for PGs in todays game … Shooting is still suspect, shot just 37% overall and a meager 32% from behind the arc … Doesnt seem to do anything outstanding offesnively … Robinsons skills play well at the collegiate level, but as far as transitioning to the next level, he desperately needs to show an improved offensive game and shooting stroke …

Notes: Probably a four year player, which is great for the Jayhawks. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Miles, a great collegiate player who went undrafted even after starting for Kansas four years at PG.
