Ok, how many African Swingmen have every been even moderately successful? Exactly. Not being racist here, but if it’s never happened before, there’s little chance of it happening now. Yes, Eyenga can jump and slash and shoot a decent mid range J. So can a lot of the prospects late in the first round. Just hear me out, all these guys drafted after Eyenga have more legitimate college experience and are very athletic as well. Derrick Brown (way better defender and fundamentally sound, good athleticism) Sam Young (Nuff said) Jermaine Taylor (great athleticism,much better jumpshot) Chase Budinger (I don’t know why any team past Cleveland didn’t pick him up. He’s just as athletic and long as Eyenga and has better jumpshot and more experience and higher IQ)
I know that Eyenga is younger than the players I mentioned, but how many Africans were drafted in the past 10 years just based on the fact that “yeah, they’re way more raw. But they’ve been playing basketball for a shorter time, so they MUST get better.”
My challenge for you is to find me 5 legit African Born and Raised (key part) NBA players in the last decade who did not go to a US college
