Like your game alot
the unpaid agent who showcases thousands of athletes. Some advice, send a tape (dvd) of your best game (a whole game, college coaches hate highlight videos because they do not show your game sense, teamwork and hustle) to colleges/universities that you feel are at your talent level. Most college programs have assistants/ student assistants who are asked to look through these tapes for unexpected recruits. Also fill out an application on their school website. There usually is a link titled "prospective athlete" or something like that. Good luck.
35.5 Points averaged as a sophmore?
You're a baller my man.
Thanks wreckless and chewy, its appreciated. If i can't get any D1 offers, i plan on going to a Junior College for 2 years and then hoping for a D1 offer. It's hard for a 6 foot white boy to get noticed.
look at it this way tho dude, if u cant sport a d1 scholarship, and when your college bballdays are over where ever that is, overseas is also an option
You have a very pretty looking J. Improve your driving ability though, and don't worry, the offers will come if you just stay focused and keep producing on the level you are.
Im going to go ahead and say sorry..
I wish you the best of luck but you need to hear it from someone who knows what they are talking about and I do..
It looks like you play at a single A school because your starting center cant be taller than 6'2. Thats bad.. Yea you can score but it doesnt look like you will be able to do at against D1 players.. You dont have great speed or leaping ability and you cant over power players.. You scored most of your points, in the highlights I saw, off of broken plays or fastbreaks. If you cant create for yourself and score on anyone around, then you are in trouble. Do you have another dynamic player on your team?? I mean do you average 35 a game and everyone else only around 9 or 10?? Because when you go to college, at any level, you arent going to be the stud.. Sorry.. If you arent used to passing and you arent John Wall, you are going to stuggle playing the PG position. It looks like you would be a good SG somewhere but you are too short and you dont have anything to compensate for that lack of height.. If you havent been called yet, there has to be a reason.. Does your team ever compete for the State Championship?? Do you ever play against other players that are legit D1 players?? Do you play AAU basketball?? All of those are things that can help you get out of a small school.
Yea you can put the ball in the hoop but who are you doing it against.. The best player I ever played with, on a real team, was a 6'2 SG that can honestly, score on anyone.. We have gone all around the country playing and he has only ran into a few players that really stopped him.. He wasnt super fast and he could dunk a little but the reason he was unstoppable was because he was super strong and super smart.. Kid could bench 350 but only weighed 180.. He has a natural feel for the game and he has crazy handles.. He didnt get a single call form a D1 school even though we played infront of tons of coaches.. We played at a Double A school in WV against very little D1 competiton but our AAU squad played everywhere.. He is playing at a D2 college and doing great right now.. Averaging close to 25 points per game..
What I am saying is, unless you do something crazy to improve your body and your 1on1 game, dont look for D1 teams to come calling.. If it doesnt happen, try a prep school. That is the way to go.. I know 2 or 3 guys that I know I am better than but since they went to a prep school, they played D1 and I was playing D2..
I wish you the best of luck and hope you can take something out of what I have said.
Thanks for the encouragement man, i almost thought about quitting bball a few years back, but my dad (who coaches me), convinced me to hang in there. I'm close to signing with Southeastern Oklahoma State University, which is a nice college, but not D1
Oh, BTW, dont quit man.. There is no shame at all in going to a D2 school and getting it all paid for by playing a game.. There are actually some benefits to going to a smaller college.. You get more looks on offense, you have the chance to start for 4 years and you could potientaly lead your team to a conference championship.. No shame in that.. There are tons of people who would be grateful to be in your position.. If a D1 school comes calling and you feel like that is the best thing for you to do, then by all means, do it.. BUT, if nobody calls, dont just not play because you cant go D1.. The expericnce of playing basketball for something other than pride or a cheap trophy in a church league is something that you only get to experience for a short while..
There is nothing wrong with playing at a smaller college.. Nothing.. Dont let your pride get to you and potientally ruin your future..
hes right 10000%.... the chances of anyone playing even d3, let alone d2 bball is relatively very rare, so be humble and stay motivated... a lot of people r prob gnnna judge u cuz ur white and short.... so???? u can hoop reallllly good.... real talk, even d2 ball is classy without a &$#%#&@! doubt!!!!
thanks deadlysin, i appreciate it a lot. I'm very close to signing to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, which is a 4 year college. Their assistant coach, Chris McGill, says they see me havin a Keiton Page/ Rotnei Clarke roll on their team
Work on your left hand, dribble, ball control, defensive intensity and most impotantly court vision. Do squats and calf rises work on your verticle. Keep working hard.
If you do those things European teams will lineup for your assistance and so will D1 teams.
playing aau ball helps a lot with getting noticed. I had a couple highschool teammates get D1 offers. But 6-0 guys are all over the place, its hard to get noticed unless you are a very good athlete.
Hey man, I know I give you &$#%#&@! for your unshakable loyalty and outlandish predictions towards Oklahoma, but I agree with 8th Deadly, I kinda got shafted my senior year and had to play out of position because our PF blew out his knee in football, and I had much higher hopes on my recruitment and opportunity to play in college, but in retrospect I wish I could have at least given it a try if not for just a year. SNU in Oklahoma was actually one of the two schools I had the opportunity to walk on to, but I didn't want to play NAIA because of my pride and it was super expensive. If you want to play, go for it, no regrets man. When your 28 and your dropping 30 on a team full of firemen and insurance agents at least you know you gave it a go when you had the chance.
thanks ohcanada, i have been workin on some of those things this summer, and next year i'll post a vid on here and hopefully yall will see an improvment. And ive only played in the hood a few times, but its they will rough u up, u wont find many pussies playin in the hood ha
Keiton Page averaged 45 points his senior year at a small OK high school, and he got only got offers from Missouri State, Wichita State, Tulsa, and Oklahoma State... OSU is pretty legit though.
&$#%#&@!.. Playing in the hood is really a good way to get hut.. I mean it would help ya if you were stronger but right now, focus on playing in real basketball games.. Hit the weight room and shoot shoot shoot.. Dont use the excuse the lifting will throw your shot off because that is retarded.. The only thing that throws your shot off is lack of shooting and you loosing your mechanics because you are tired..
Beaf up that body, look to set up your teammates (Because thats what you are gonna have to do to be successful at the next level), and keep playing.. Dont get satisfied...
I agree with what he said. Work your ass off to get in position to get a D1 offer, if that doesn't happen then like he said there is nothing wrong with d2, nothing at all.
If athleticism is your issue and your dad is a coach, I'd say hit the hang cleans!!!! it does wonders for your explosiveness and if your dad's a coach you'd have access to knowledge and equimpent.
Hey man.. I feel ya there.. My dad was my HS coach too.. I remember many summers of getting up at 6 in the morning and going to the local track for miles, sprints, and plyometrics... Fun stuff.. I also am a 6' white guy but I am much bigger than you are.. Ive got around 30 pounds on ya but its not like fat pounds.. I play, well played at a D2 school and I tore my achillies tendon so I quit.. Anyway, Dads that know the game are actually a blessing in disguise.. I know its hard to appreciate him right now, but you will.

I'm Dalen Qualls and i'm trying to get my name out to people in the recruiting circle. I'm a rising Senior in HS, and i'm hoping to play D1 ball. Look me up on utube and see whatchu think, thanks!
