On Yahoo’s front page, they have the story about Yao’s foot not healing. They say that he will not only be out next season, but possibly much longer. I worry that his NBA future might be bleak at best. He has been such a good guy and brought so much to the game. He has brought in so many news fans and has never had character issues. This is very unfortunate. I feel bad for the guy; he has done nothing but good for the league.

That is a shame for the rockets, their fans, and Everyone in the NBA and all basketball fans. Losing the tallest player for maybe 1+ years would take the rockets from a very good team to a decent team. I hope these reports are wrong. Even though i dont like the Rockets, I hope he’ll be back

I just saw that to. I feel bad for him and his family, along with the NBA and the Rocket fans. Bad things often happen to great people.

Rockets center Yao Ming’s left foot injury could be severe enough to be season ending or even career-threatening depending on the success of potential treatments chosen, Rockets team physician Tom Clanton said Monday.

“At this point, the injury has the potential for him missing this next season and could be career threatening,” Clanton said. “One of the things we are trying to get is a consensus opinion on that, to make certain there is no option we are overlooking that would provide an earlier return or would be an option for treatment that he would prefer rather than doing additional surgery.”

Clanton, responding to a story on Yahoo Sports that reported that the Rockets and Yao representatives are concerned Yao will never play again, said that Yao could choose to try again to immobilize the foot in the hopes that the hairline fracture of the tarsal navicular bone would heal on its own, as several of his previous bone injuries have and doctors expected this time.

Ouch that’s painful. I don’t know how far they can get when their 3 best players might not even play for them next year. What does that leave? Aaron Brooks and Luis Scola. They have a good chance of not even making the playoffs. I just don’t know where the points would come from. I feel bad.
