All this talk of Kobe being the closest thing to Jordan, doing the same things he could, and being in the same discussion…. bla bla bla.

Dwyane wade is overlooked due to the hype of Kobe Bryant. Wade has been overlooked due to "league favorite superstars" and lost an opportunity to win the mvp in 2009 because of it.

Wade’s game is more of a mold of Jordan’s. Wade has said before that shaped his game around Jordan’s. When I watch Kobe play, I don’t see the similarity to Jordan. They do have some things in common, but overall, Kobe looks like a much different player (which is not a bad thing, please don’t assume I meant that).

Over the next 5 years, we’ll find out just how great these 2 guards ended up being on the all time list.

Question for you all out there. Should Wade win 6 rings and kobe end with 6 rings, who will go down as the better player?   – Note – Wade has done amazing things for the Miami Heat…

okay, that post explained your stance much more. As for who’s game represents jordan’s more, its tough. I personally go with kobe. ANd i dont mean that in a kobe is better then wade kinda way. But wade just has this reckless blow by guys mentality where he  can get by someone either in the open court or half court and get all the way to the rim with ease. To be honest, wade has that advantage over both kobe and jordan. Thats why they call him flash. Jordan and kobe use more pump fakes and foot work and post ups to work their man. Plus just their whole body movements, and jumpers and everything about them is similar. So I see more similarity between kobe and mj then i do wade. The biggest difference between how jordan and kobe play is that kobe uses the driblle a lot more. He pounds the rock and jordan was very quick to get to his spot and either take his shot or swing it. Kobe dribbles through traffic and messes around more.

what can wade do that kobe cant? Kobes made almost as many 3’s in the last 2 seasons as wade has made in his entire 7 year career. Kobe made more game winners last season then wade has made in his entire 7 year career. Kobe won the same amount of championships last season as wade has won in his entire 7 year career. He has earned as many first team defensive honors in the last 2 seasons as wade has earned in his entire nba career. Wade has averaged 30 points once in his career, not coming close to to kobe’s 35.5ppg. Wade isnt conseidered better then kobe by just about any nba gm, journalist or coach, you think that is a coincidence?

i dont need to check those videos. I have been watching the nba since 1991. I watched countless videos and highlights and replays of old games. 20 minutes of videos isnt gonna convince me over watching damn near entire careers first hand.

when we compare wade and jordan, quite a few things in common.

Jordan was a deadly slasher when he entered the league. took sometime to develop that shot of his, which ultimately became an equal dagger of his to use.

When Wade entered the league, he was wreckless, out of control, extremely fast and one of the became one of the best penetrators in the league. I feel Wade developed his jumpshot in 2006, although in the finals he used his penetration ability to the get to the line…practically the whole series against the mavs.

When I see Wade now, I still see the same wreckless high flyer, yet in control….. Also, Wade has a deadly mid-range game. In fact, anywhere inside the 3 pt arc, Wade is decent….and that is strong similarity to Jordan.

When it comes to defense, I tend to not give Kobe credit. I know he’s a good defender….but a 1st team defender? No. Wade is a better defender than Kobe…he steals, be blocks…especially if he gets beat off the dribble…THAT’S when you think you’ve beaten Wade and then SWIPE….there goes the ball and Wade’s on the fastbreak.

Now now, Wade is no lock down defender…and neither is Kobe. They both have moments throughout their career where they lock someone up and it’s held up REAL high.

Kobe has always had the better team.

I made this case to you a few months back and still believe what I said then.

Take Kobe off the lakers, put wade in his spot. No way in hell they ever struggle to beat the raptors/grizzlies/etc. with a game winning jumpshot. NO WAY.

disagree. Could wade on the lakers still win championships? Very likely. The lakers are great team. Now to tell me they never struggle and need the occasional gmae winner or are in a close battle to a sub par team is just silly. Jordan in his prime has lost to sub par teams.

A strong difference between Wade and Kobe is playmaking ability.

Wade will give up his shot to find an open less reliable man….whether that be a great teamate or curse in the long run. Wade MAKES his teammates around him better,  HOWEVER, i know kobe does that too. The difference is, Wade makes his teammates way better….and if you give Wade: Pau, artest, bynum, odom, fisher, etc……sorry, they just play way better than they do with kobe.

dont agree on that either. Do not underestimate how kobe makes his teammates play smarter. ANybody who has ever played with kobe excpet shaq has said how he makes them better. Kobe is a natural leader and him getting on teammates when they dont step up is a huge strength that he shares with michael. Lots of fans hate how kobe makes faces and gets upset at his teammates, but jordan always did the same thing and there is a method to their madness that makes their teammates better. Wade doesnt get in his teammates face as often.
