druneave3ParticipantWhich team would you rather have?
I did this awhile back with current young players and now I will do the same with the All-Time greats. Like I did with the current younger players would you rather, I have formed TEAM A with my favorite players, I’ll take them. I hope I didn’t make them too good.
TEAM A
PG-Derrick Rose SG-Michael Jordan SF-LeBron James PF-Kevin Garnett C-Hakeem Olajuwon
TEAM B
PG- Isiah Thomas SG- Kobe Bryant- SF- Scottie Pippen PF- Karl Malone C- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
TEAM C
PG- Magic Johnson SG- Allen Iverson SF- Kevin Durant PF- Tim Duncan C- Bill Russell
TEAM D
PG- Oscar Robertson SG- Reggie Miller SF- Larry Bird PF- Bob Pettit (created the term Power Forward) C- Wilt Chamberlain
TEAM E
PG- Jason Kidd SG- Dwyane Wade SF- Julius Erving PF- Charles Barkley C- Arvydas Sabonis
TEAM F
PG- Gary Payton SG- Jerry West SF- Dominique Wilkins PF- Dirk Nowitzki C- Shaquille O’Neal

ChewyParticipantThey have the greatest player ever at SG.
They have the player everyone is saying might take MJ’s title as greatest ever at SF.
They have arguably the best C of all time. (I say it’s Kareem, but you can make an argument for Hakeem)
They have arguably the best PF of all time. (It’s him or Duncan)
Then they just happen to have Derrick Rose at PG.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantIn my mind it’s a toss-up between Team A and Team C.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantGive me Magic,Shaq,Lebron,Jordan & Garnett..We’ll take on anyone…
In the All-Star Games Shaq and Garnett played so well 2gether…Magic can paly with anybody…

FUNKYBUNCHParticipantTeam A is the best on paper, but whichever team is hot would win- they are all dominant as long as you can mix the egos together.

For_Never_EverParticipantA – That team has the best defensive capability and the best athletes. This is the only team on the list that could beat these other great teams on the defensive end of the game.

ENOGSIWONdedeObviously team A is the best they are the best defensive teams and a lof of guys who are tough covers as well, only weakness is they do not spread the floor great with shooting.

phila9012Participantyea,you made team a way too dominant. they have four guys who are top 2 or 3 at their positions. That basiclly ruined.

For_Never_EverParticipantThey have Shaquille O’Neal who is the biggest X factor. So he could edge the other teams out. However Gary Payton is the weak link compared to the other Pg’s. Jerry West wouldn’t fair well at all against these Sg’s. He was great for his time, but these generations is too far out for him.

ENOGSIWONdedeJerry West was a much better player than Allen Iverson or Reggie

TRC1991ParticipantTeam A is head and shoulders better than the rest…

meirmeir13Team A but in a 7 game series I say team F and B would be able to do some damage.

tiberiusParticipantTeam A’s defense is bananas. Could you imagine if they played zone? So much versatility! If they play 2-3, you would have KG AND Hakeem protecting the paint and covering the side as well as lebron who could guard basically any position on lockdown. Those 3 guys would engulf rebounds just by themselves. If you play 3-2 zone oh man hakeem and kg is enough to watch the paint but then you have MJ AND Lebron covering the perimeter as well as Speedy Rose staying in front of the fastest, strongest pointguards. Any team that plays them will have their starting 5 in foul trouble early. +Lebron and MJ on the break is as crazy as magic and mj, but then you have derrick rose basically playing the role Byron Scott did woah

HaleParticipantA-absolutely no question. They lack perimeter shooting but in prime that team is beyond insane in terms of athletes.

aamir543ParticipantTeam A no doubt, you have MJ and Lebron, and you add Hakeem, KG and D-Rose? But all of these teams are legendary, like FunkyBunch said, whichever team gets hot would win in a tournament between these teams.

theprophetParticipantwhy would you put these teams together?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 09/04/2012 - 6:58pm #711848

BlueLacesParticipantTeam A for sure. Jordan, LeBron, KG and Hakeem are arguably some of the best defenders of all-time at their respective positions. I would say that teams B & C are 2A and 2B.
And how did Arvydas Sabonis get thrown into the mix with all the rest of the players? He was good, and the NBA missed him in his prime, but I can name quite a few centers that were better than him.
