Okay pretty random question and topic here but watching the Wolves media day, (the hype around the building is CRAZY) I saw an interview with their general manager Milt Newton. Okay I’ll be honest I’ve never heard about this guy before but after that blockbuster trade, all credit (well, given by the media in particular and from my viewpoint) was given to Flip Saunders.

I’m not bashing Flip or anything because he did do a great job but why did it seem from all articles that Flip was the extreme genius behind all this? This also brings me to my question of what is the difference of the president of basketball operations and the general managers anyway in terms of player personel decisions??

Sorry for the maybe simple and ignorant question but watching the interview with Flip then with GM Milt Newton, it seemed that Milt had and displayed SO much more insight and knowledge of the team. Every question is greeted with an enthusiastic answer and you can see that he did have a lot of contribution in planning all this. Again every question is greeted with so much insight, and in all of them he offers the outlook he has on the season and his plans with the roster. I like the guy. Why isn’t he mentioned with the likes of Daryl Morey or Danny Ainge?? I have a feeling he had much more to do with the trade and the buzz surrounding the city than Flip.

Again no offense to Flip I respect the hell out of the guy, but Milt Newton is too under-the-radar… And Wolves fans!!!! You are the envy of a looot of fanbases right now.
