Wizards or Kings?
It just depends. Which player takes his game to the next level? John Wall or DeMarcus Cousins?
The Kings do two things I really like. They score and they rebound. They just need to play some defense.
Washington has less knuckle heads and a better line-up throughout IMO. THe Kings dont really have any legit veteran leadership and will probably banking on the possibly improved play from Demarcus cousins and tyreke evans. Thomas Robinson was definitely a step in the right direction though
Barring significant injuries it's undoubtedly the Wizards. I personally think the Wizards even have a shot at making the playoffs.
Wizards, adding Okafor, Ariza, Nene is going to be huge for them
Not a good team, but much better than what theyve been over last few years...they'll compete for that 8th seed in the playoffs
wizards. Talent wise, i give them only a slight edge, but the east isnt quite as tough so that should help them wins wise
Let's compare big 3's shall we, since that IS the only way of telling how good a team is nowadays.
Sac-town: DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, and Isaiah Thomas.
D.C.: John Wall, Nene and Okafor/Ariza.
I have to give the edge to D.C. simply because they have more established vets that have a history of producing. The entire Kings franchise is in a state of flux right now, with the Kings possibly moving to VA Beach, (I'd be happy, I only have to drive 30 minutes to see NBA instead of 4 hours) and the Maloofs being the Maloofs.
The only thing that worries me, is that the Wiz are going to be stuck on that dreaded treadmill of mediocrity. The Kings are going to be bad and get a top 3 draft pick (The Bobcats will be worse, and Stern has already given the #1 pick to Orlando), but the Rashard-Okariza trade was just so that the GM would win a few more games and make the team look like it was making progress. This DC team is solid but not great, and in the NBA, that is a position you do NOT want to be in.
I kind of agree next year draft wont be as good as this year draft so the wizards wont be losing out on much really. It's more important that the wizards make the playof even if its the 8 seed there young players gain experience thats way more important then a high lottery pick in a very weak draft.
I don't see the Wiz making the playoffs this season, but they did start moving in the right direction again.
I don't see the Kings doing much at all, except maybe moving to another city eventually.
I'd have to go with the wiz. The play in the east and with the addition of nene and okafor will be great in giving them some defense and rebounding as well as okafors interior defense. Also adding beal will help out wall a lot as a player who can play without the ball in his hands and spacing the floor.
Even though I like the kings playing in the west is never good for a young team with no real leadership. I feel cousins will have a big year and will get decent contributions from some of their other players and drafting trob was a big step in the rite direction and I feel that eventually he will become the leader on this team (not the best player on the team but the leader because of his strong personality). But having no players who will bring defnse first will really hurt them.
The wizards will be the better team provided they can stay healthy. The Kings seem to be stuck with youth and a lack of leadership from the team all the way up to the owners.
The Kings need a distributor if they want to utilize all of the talent that they have to a better extent. I still don't think they have a single true point guard on their entire roster. Thornton, Tyreke and Jimmer are all combos who score and do not distribute enough as point guards without a high turnover rate. Aaron Brooks and Isaiah Thomas are both undersized scorers who get the lead guard role by default because of their size.
Also, as good as Cousins is right now, he could be so much better. He averaged 4.7 fouls per 36 minute last year and only shot .448 from the field, which is horrible for a big man who pretty much only shoots in the paint. If he can stay on the floor more and take better quality shots, who's to say that he can't average 20-25 ppg......

Who will be the better team in the 2012-2013 season, the Wizards or the Kings?
