For god’s sake, this joker has been on the Wizards roster for far too long, it’s time for Grunfeld to bite the bullet and drop him.

Reports are that the team has not made their mind up 100% but are definitely leaning towards it.

Bidding for Blatche would be available to teams under the salary cap and the bidding would begin at $3.79 million.

The Wizards would have to cut Blatche a check for $23 million but it obviously won’t count against their salary cap

In other news, the Hawks have released recently acquired point guard Jordan Farmar to make room for recently acquired Kyle Korver

    Isnt the offseason special?

It makes NO sense for one of your highest paid players to be a role player who’ll most likely play in garbage minutes with the number of bigs on that roster. Use the clause and let him get a fresh start somewhere else.

I  sure hope Bill Simmons calls his buddy Joe House to discuss it. House is a riot when he discusses that guy.

It makes on sense at ALL to keep Blatche, maybe if he were like a Rashard Lewis who was a great mentor than maybe you might consider keeping him, but it’s ludicrous if they would keep a guy and pay him for being a team cancer and eating his way out of the league. Get this man out of your town before he corrupts the young talent. Wizards fans should cry if he’s not amnestied and would just prove further that Ernie Grunfield is inept and should have never been re-signed. If they amnesty Blatche that would give them room to go after a backup to Beal like a Shannon Brown who would be exciting running the break with wall. They could get a veteran backup PG like Jannero Pargo as Shelvin Mack is horrendous, and lastly could add another shooter at SF like Delfino behind the more defensive minded guys like Ariza and Singelton.

You do realise they still have to pay him if they amnesty him right?  They have up to like 2016 or something to use their amnesty clause and it is a great weapon to have in your arsenal to free up cap space to become a contender.  If Beal and Wall can grow together they should have a good team in a couple of years then they could use their amnesty on a bad contract to sign a good free agent or something.  Lets not act like Blatche’s contract is the worst bit of business in the history of sport.  I personally think it would be a waste of the clause to use on him, saying that I don’t not know for ure how much of a cancer he is in the lockeroom.

So to sum up – No Wizards fans should not condemn Ernie Grunfeld to hell if he does not amnesty Blatche

Why save the amnesty? After Blatche the entire Wizards roster will consist of 8 rookie contracts, which is a waste to Amnesty a guy still on his rookie deal. Nene,Okafor, and Ariza’s big contracts which you can’t amnesty since they weren’t on the roster before the new CBA so therefore they either pay for Blatche to go away or have him play a lesser role and continue to try and trade him, which will be a task to say the least. Money wise it would make more sense to pay him to rot on your bench until you can find away to get something in return for him but the fans are just tired of him. He can’t check into home games without getting boo’d, butted heads with both Flip Saunders and Randy Wittman, and there’s this

      and this

      HE’S GOTTA GO

Blatche certainly put up a stinker, compared to his previous play, in the lockout shortened season…like many others did. At this point adding Nene and Okafor while still retaining Vesely, Seraphin, and Booker it does make sense to allow Blatche to move on. If Blatche is finding his way back to the gym some team will be very fortunate, in 2010-2011 Blatche put up 16.8ppg, 8.2rpg, and 1.5spg. Granted his numbers are likely elevated due to the team being fairly bad, but he could be a good pick up for a team lacking in size. Blatche is 6’11" and he’s only 26.

Leaning towards? I lol’d as soon as I saw that smh How long does Grunfield plan to wait? Blatche would’ve been on his way packing as soon as Young and Mcgee got their bags together. You don’t keep one bad apple out of a bunch, you get rid of them ALL!

I wonder if he would have went to Cuse like he was about to would he have been more mature.  I think I would just tell him not to show up to games or practice just let him sit somewhere and think about his work ethic and where he wants to be in a couple years as a player.  If he doesn’t care then wait and trade his expireing contract.
