Reports came out about a half hour or so ago that the Kings are open to move WCS. I know he’s not been the most productive player since he came into the league, but I never thought him w/ the Kings was an ideal situation for him. I never thought him and Cousins mesh well becasue WCS is more of a rim protector, pairing him with Boogie would take him away from the rim. I believe he will be better suited with a team that just ask him to protect the rim and run the floor. I believe the Kings are the Browns of the NBA, it’s just a toxic place for a young guy to develop properly.

I believe the Bucks or Pelicans would be a perfect fit with them. He would complement Anthony Davis perfectly, they need another active player that can protect the rim. And he would fill a much needed role for the Bucks, they need someone to replace Miles Plummlee, Greg Monroe, and John Henson.

    Thoughts?

Question is, who would NOLA give up for him? I think they would be foolish to give up a future pick, and outside of that I’m not sure there’s a deal to be had unless a 3rd team got involved.

I like the potential fit defensively for the Bucks as well. Without Middleton though, the Bucks would almost certainly struggle offensively if they gave WCS big minutes. He’s been a liability on that end of the floor to date.

Also I think the Knicks could be interesting too, but the same issue as the Pelicans arises with them… who do they give up to acquire him?

I wonder if they’ll just dump him or actually want something in return. His ceiling doesn’t seem to he too high.

I always wondered why the chose him: With Emmanuel Mudiay,Devin booker,Justise Winslow and Stanley Johnson left on the board..

Personally if I was them I would have either gone for either Devin Booker or Emanual Mudiay as they would have filled needs for them and they could have gone after either Marquis Chriis or a big in free agency to pair with Cousins…

As for WCS I could see him on one of these teams:

Phoenix:Would make a nice replacement for Tyson(for when he leaves) who they could have teach him how to play to his strengths as I could see WCS being a Tyson Chandler clone with a little more range. It also doesnt hurt that he has played with booker and Ulis.

This move would probably take a 3 team trade.  So maybe something like this: Phoenix WCS, Nola Darren collison(expiring)+Alex lex(RFA) and Sacramento get Jrue holiday when he comes back..To either use as a trade asset, resign next year or let expire at the end of the season.

WCS to the Timberwolves to play along side KAT would be a nice fit however I don’t know what the T-wolves would be willing to give up and that the Kings would want assuming the following off limits in the deal: Rubio,KAT,Zac,Wiggins,Dunn and Dieng. But wouldn’t be surprised if the T-wolves put Rubio in there and got something like one  Nemaja or Shabazz and Rubio for Collison,WCS and Ben Mclemore.  Both teams do this for two reasons Kings apparently really like Rubio(main reason kings do this deal) and the T-wolves do this so they can pair WCS and Towns together and round their bench out a little better with Cole,Dieng,Rush,Ben M and either Collison or Dunn.

NOLA could be a good fit but they don’t really have a great amount of assets to trade without involving another team, assuming the next year pick is off limits(They are getting a high pick no doubt).

Dallas: Could be an interesting fit for two reasons pretty stable environment and could be a nice fit next to Barnes for their future. Would either take a pick or some youth get him-Such as Justin Anderson though which I don’t know how keen Dallas may be to give up as they probably know Dirk doesn’t have much time left..

I don’t see the Suns having much interest in WCS with Chandler, Len, Chris and Bender already there. Dallas is an interesting one if they went into rebuild, playing around Dirk and Bogut would be great for WCS to learn from.

OFC they’d be interested in dealing him since he’s hot garbage.  Forget the fact that he’s a huge negative offensively who can’t even catch a ball cleanly and has the footwork of a baby deer, if he was actually good defensively, which is his rep, he’d get more run. But he’s a dunce on both ends of the floor, has not improved skill-wise nor in terms of strength. He’s either a slow learner, doesn’t work on his game, doesn’t care enough or a combination of all of the above.

They should try to get whatever they can for him.  The more he plays, the more teams will find out exactly what he is, which isn’t much. Jesus the Kings suck at drafting.

Very interesting to see him and the similar Nerlens Noel both in a similar spot. Wonder what they would bring in a deal compared to each other.

Anyway the Kings are where prospects go to die in terms of their careers. Since Boogie in 2010 it’s a joke And only taking a shot on undersized Isaiah Thomas last in 2011 could give them any value in their last 6 drafts. 2011 with Jimmer over Klay was a huge mistake. Thomas Robinson was a bust over Lillard, Barnes, and Drummond. McLemore has been mishandled and will never become much with the Kings. He was the right pick there at the time though. Stauskas was mishandled and almost pushed himself out of the NBA. Just made no sense to take him there the year after McLemore and with a hole at the point when Payton was there. One of them was in the mix for the #1 pick and the other was a pretty clear Top 10 guy in a strong draft. Then they take WCS who isn’t a great fit with Boogie. A Winslow, Lyles, and Myles Turner would have fit better and were all better prospects to me. Then this year they give up Marquesse Chriss for pennies on the dollar for a guy that is both a reach where he was taken and too big of a project to help the team now.
