William Buford, pre-season lottery selection
The same thing that happens to every player that decides to stay in college to long.
I always thought him being a projected lotto pick was kind of over selling his talent. He's a spot up shooting 2 guard who won't really do much slashing, evidenced by his lack of FT attempts. His ball handling has gotten better but he won't pull out advanced moves to break down defenses. He's an average college athlete, which makes him slightly below average for the nba. I see him as a less explosive OJ Mayo at next level; he won't come in averaging nothing like the 18 ppg like OJ did. He'll give good effort and be solid on D, but he won't stand out. He's the kind of player who'll be solid, make smart plays and won't hurt you. Nba teams love winners, so assuming he has another year comparable to this one, while improving in a couple areas, he should be alright. Him going in the 20's sounds about right.
I am surprised in this draft with few shooting guards that he is not even mentioned in the second round. I still think he makes someone's team though.

He's staying at OSU for his senior year where he can really shine with Diebler and Lighty gone and Sullinger drawing so much attention and his stock can climb again. If anyone remembers Deandre Jordan was the number one overall pick preseason in 2008 and went second round, also Terrence Williams was mid second round preseason in 2009 and went in top 10 so don't buy into preseason mock drafts too much.

What is everyone's thoughts on William Buford? This guy was projected lottery before the season started, now he barely cracks the 1st round.
