akhan786ParticipantJust wondering what the consensus was on little Curry on this board.
I really think Seth Curry can find a place in the league. Just watching last night, you could see that he has really developed to become more than just a three point shooter.
He scored in every which way and ended up with 18 points at the half with 6’5 PJ Hairston or 6’6 Reggie Bullock on him the entire time. Roy said it best when he said Curry was just toying with his defenders with jab steps and his improved handle. He’s also become a better distributor this year as well.
What do you guys think? Defense is still a weakness for him, but he’s proven he can score over bigger athletic defenders. I personally think he’ll be a great role player in the league and if he doesn’t get drafted, he WILL find a way to be on a NBA roster at the start of the season.
Keep in mind also that he’s been playing hurt all season and hasn’t practiced ALL year. Coach K says that he would be on of the leading scorers in the nation if he was healthy. Take that for what its worth but I think it could’ve been close since the leading scorer Erik Green is averaging 25ppg.

WolfRobParticipantoffense won’t be his problem in the league, the question is can he defend?

BlueRivers25ParticipantNo need to use a 2nd round pick on him. Teams can get him as a undrafted rookie.

ASAP HenryParticipantSeth Curry has really rounded out his game nicely during his time at Duke, he absolutely killed UNC last night. Imo Seth is def worth a 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft, maybe even late 1st round. Shooters are always at a premium in the NBA, and Seth is one of the best shooters in the draft who can get his shot spotting up or off the bounce. I actually think he will carve out a pretty decent NBA career for himself when it’s all said and done

Ahkasi ClayParticipantSomebody is going to get a really good summer league guy. I dont see him in nba. But hope I am wrong

Sewok15ParticipantThe only reason he would get a chance is because his name and college. He is a good shooter but there are 30 other guys who can shoot just as well as he can and they won’t smell the league. I think he might end up making a roster but I don’t see him as a guy who plays 5 full NBA seasons.

IknoBall12ParticipantMy issue with Seth is that I don’t think he can create space off the dribble well enough. If you notice most of his points come off screens and open or slightly contested jumpers. Too keep mentioning that he can’t defend doesn’t mean much to me because in the NBA a lot of players can’t defend but still have jobs. Look at Steve Nash for example or even older brother steph. No one would call them good defenders yet they are playing in the L. Defense is overrated especially when you’re talking about late to 2nd round picks. Seth will get to the league

surveParticipantI agree with you about the defense. Thats not my issue with him either. I also dont have an issue with him creating enough space on his jumper. Steve Kerr couldnt. Seth can find a spot in the NBA. My thing about him is, he is not a good enough creator and lacks NBA level PG skills. That wont keep him out of the league either, but to answer the question, I do think it will keep him from getting drafted.

akhan786ParticipantI don’t think you’ve watched him enough this year. He’s incredibly crafty at creating space for himself for an open shot. His handle, hesitations, and pivots are really underrated.

TRC1991ParticipantI don’t think he’ll measure very well at the combine (6’0”, 6’1.75” w shoes) and hes not a dynamite athlete but hes a stone cold shooter and clutch as well

IknoBall12ParticipantI think you misunderstood me. Ive watched every game hes played this season and I’m not talking about him creating space against college players. I’m talking about when he gets to the league and starts going against the tony Allen’s or Avery Bradley’s that none of that will work. Yes Seth does work with his jan steps and hesitations but most of these guys in college won’t even sniff the league. Look at how Seth played in the 2 games against Miami when Durand Scott and even against Clemson when they threw two 6’6 defenders at him. Seth didnt even score the first Miami game. Not saying everyone can’t have a bad game but just saying there’s big difference bt the ways college and MBA defenders will guard him. If u get physical with Seth he can be neutralized pretty quickly. Check the tape and leave the highlights on sports center alone
