jaysmith1987ParticipantIn my opinion Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker play nothing like Lebron. They are not point forwards. These guys to me are scorers. I think better Comparisons are Wiggins as a Rudy Gay with a better mindset and Jabari Parker as a melo clone deceptively athletic.

Sewok15ParticipantCome original….This topic has been beaten to death and the kid hasn’t even played a college game…How about we all hold off on comparisons until the season starts.

ChewyParticipantthis has been brought up and posted on about 150 times (no exaggeration). Here is what NBAdraft board has said most often…
Parker- Paul Pierce and Melo
Wiggins- T-Mac, Rudy Gay and even Scottie Pippen a lot. Also, many people have already said (and I agree for the most part) that these two are elite so let them be themselves without trying to peg them as the next version of a current NBA all-star.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI think that Parker’s injury and his weight gain hurt him this year. When he first came back from injury, he looked like he put on 30 pounds. He lost it fairly quick but he seemed like he was still getting back to form. In the Allstar games at the end of the year, he looked really good.
I think he has a better jumper, like you said, and has a higher IQ.
Combine things like great height, versatility, and a good/great IQ and potential is limitless.

ChewyParticipantI think so too. You can call it a Chicago bias, but I think his jump shot and overall play making will translate well not only as a rookie, but 12 years into his career as an old man.
Paul Pierce carried the Celtics this year and lead them in scoring and I think the last time he full out sprinted was like 2 years ago lol. Skills let players have longer careers.

DunksNJordans23ParticipantJabari did put on a lot of weight and it actually was close to 30 pounds. I saw him in his first game and he looked really out of shape but he played his way into shape by the McDonalds ASG, I saw him there too.
Side note. Shout out to my Chicago guys

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe South Regional is in Memphis this year. Hope it comes down to Kansas and Duke (fingers crossed).

Tobe BryantParticipantAndrew Wiggins reminds me of Paul George/Rudy Gay.
Jabari Parker is like Melo/Paul Pierce.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI wonder which guy will fit better into the analytics era.
It’s too early to tell though at least until college basketball season starts.

roni3ParticipantAndrew Wiggins is an exceptional player, he is a scoring machine due to his freakish athleticism, long frame and good mechanics. During the Jordan or McDonald’s all American games he was actually mosting up some players which kind of shocked me. The thing that impressed me the most was his crazy blakelike spin and then would explode to the rim, he also had a decent pull up game. Defensively he still has some work to do since he is someone skinny but he still has time to add muscle. He seems to have good reflexes and really quick hands.
Jabari body wise does seem to resemble a more athletic Paul Pierce/ Melo but I wouldn’t go as far as to say he plays exactly like them. Parker is way less of a ball hog as Melo and way better overall with respect to their ages. Parker seems to be a better defender and way better passer. I love his jump shot he has that Jamal Crawford vertical on his shot making it really hard to block his shit since he gets so much height on his shot as well as the fact he releases it at the apex of his shot.
One person no one seems to talk about is Julius Randle this kid is one gifted basketball player. He already has the power forward body type 6-9/ 6-10 inches and like 240-250 pounds, besides Wiggins, Randle is probably the next best athlete in this class. He knows how to take a smaller player to the block and post him up but he also has really good handle for a power forward and is capable to take someone bigger then him off the dribble. He has a deadly mid range I just hope he doesn’t fall in love with it, he reminds me of Josh Smith with less of the court issues and not as big of an ego so do not be surprised if Randle is the top pick in the draft next year.

OneAndDoneParticipanti think the most similar player to lebron in this class is Julius Randle. I know this forum hadnt mentioned him but the original post compared wiggins and parker to lebron. Randle is of similar size, imposes his will on defenders, has a decent handle and decent midrange shot, and does whatever it takes to win. hes not quite the playmaker the king is but im excited to see what coach cal can do with him, and how he eventually can transition to the NBA.

Puregreen5ParticipantAndrew Wiggins will be a mix between, Paul George and Moe Harkless as an NBA player. Parker=Melo/Alex English.
