As a big wolves fan, I’ve watched every game this year and it has been an interesting season so far to say the least. It can be very frustrating at times, but I always try to take a step back and look at the big picture rather than get hung up on W/L’s. Last night had to be one of the most encouraging games this year even though we let it slip away at the end. First Shabazz absolutely exploded and it seems like he’s getting much more comfortable shooting from te outside.

However, the most encouraging thing I saw last night was Wiggins get off to a slow start in the first half, but still maintain a high level of aggresiveness throughout the entire game. I actually think that Wiggins has gone into most games with an aggressive mindset and starts out the game looking to score, but the way I see it the majority of his games this year fall into two categories. Either he starts out aggressive and plays well or starts out aggressive and misses some shots then goes into timid Wiggins "I’m just out here to play D" mode.

A deeper rooted issue that may be causing this is his absolute lack of ball handling skills at this point. If his jumpers aren’t falling early he doesn’t have the handle yet to get to the hoop to get easy buckets so he decides to just stop looking to score. Last night he got of to a start like this and I was expecting the same result. However he came back in the second half in attack mode and played some of the best basketball I’ve seen from him this year. He needs to do this on a more consistent basis but I thought it was a very encouraging sign and I’ve really enjoyed watching these young guys develop this year.

This is what I expected from Wiggins his rookie year, but I think he will take leaps and bounds as each year progresses and by his third season he should definitely be a 22 ppg scorer. Shabazz on the other hand has done a complete 180.After sliding down from being a top 3 lock in his draft and being labeled a bust by people after his first season, hes starting to show flashes of what made him so good at the high school level again.

I was at the game last night and was extremely impressed by both Wiggins and Shabazz. It was a fun game to watch. Minny has a exciting young team.

Ive watched a lot of T-Wolves games and Kansas games not all but a good share and I would say its hard to judge Wiggins for having a lack of aggression on the offensive game at times. The truth is he is still not even close to reaching his potential. At times he is just completely outmatched skill and strength wise.

If he continues to play aggressive while missing shots people will say he is selfish or has low IQ if he stops being aggressive people will say he is timid. A lot of this has to do with his expectations which need to be expanded to more of a longterm role. He still has to figure it out.

He needs to improve his dribble to take full advantage of his athletisism, and he needs to put in work in the gym this off season to take full advantage of his skill set in the post and size differential. And of course his ball IQ and shooting consistency needs to improve but that will come with repetition.

Also its hard to judge his play without knowing Flips expectations and what he wants from Drew. What I will say is I’m impressed with Andrews patients. He is learning in every game and getting better day by day. He takes advantage of mismatches and knows his limitation. He’s going to be an amazing, hard to say he will be a all time great like KD or Lebron but he should be a franchise talent at the level of Paul George or Blake Griffin.

I agree that his handles have to improve for him to reach his potential and play well at the 2.

With his aggressiveness though I think it comes down to confidence and shyness. He IS competitive, but he isn’t assertive. It is easier to make someone more assertive than it is to make him more competetive.

I think that he will be fine. I still think he is going to be Paul George at least.

WIGGINS POSESSES THE SECRET TO BEING A PURE ATHLETE…HE STAYS LOOSE AT ALL TIMES UNTIL HE STRIKES.THERE IS MUSCLE FOR SHOW AND THEN THEIR IS MUSCLE FOR GO. WIGGINS OWNS THE LATTER. THE TROUBLE WITH BEING A SUPER ATHLETE IS THAT IT GIVES YOU CREDENTIALS BEYOND DESERVING IN THE EYES OF MOST NON ATHLETES. HE HAS A LONG WAYS TO GO BEFORE HIS "FEEL" FOR THE GAME IS SECOND NATURE IMO.EXAMPLE JABARIS GAME IS FAR ADVANCED, BUT HIS ATHLETICISM WILL NEVER BE REALIZED ESP NOW THAT HES TORN LIGS… ON THE OTHER HAND WIGGINS ATHLETICISM IS SO REDICULOUS THAT HE CAN STILL GET 15,5,3,3,1 ON MOST NIGHTS JUST BEING OUT THERE. WHEN WIGGINS GAME REACHES JABARIS GAME WIGGINS WILL TERRORIZE THIS LEAGUE . THE CAVS ARE LLOKING LIKE COMPLETE IDIOTS TRADING HIM FOR LOVE NOW THAT LOVE IS NOT PLAYING LIKE THE PLAYER WE ALL KNOW HE WAS UP NORTH.

Wiggins will be a very good if not great NBA player. Right now he just needs to polish his game a bit more and take less mid-range shots where he is making only 31% so far this season.

Wiggins length and athleticism allow him to do basically anything on the court. Gotta love that he takes pride in defense unlike most star players. Thing that surprise me the most is his post up and face up game has looked pretty good, pumping some iron and getting bigger and stronger will definitely help with that facet of his game. His dribbling isn’t very good right now, but it’s skill like shooting and get better with repetition and practice. Once his handle gets tightened his quickness will make him really difficult to stay in front of. Really does have unlimited potential.

Wiggins looked real aggressive against the Kings, showed me something I’ve never seen from him with the aggressive dribble moves and huge dunks.

Looks like he’s getting comfortable in the NBA and trying new things.
