I know so many posts are about Dwight Howard and his drama…   The problem is everyone is only blaming him for being selfish, a drama queen, and irrational…  The thing is, it’s furthest from the truth…  I even caught myself joining the crowd of disliking Dwight until I did a little research and tried to understand (even though he hasn’t come out and said anything yet) the man…

For as crazy as this situation is, Dwight is only doing what all of us would be doing if we were in his position…  From my understanding the only reason he opted in last year (and if you remember they were bashing him last year too) was because of his love for Orlando (clearly he didn’t think they would contend)…  What I also understand is that the Magic TOLD him if he didn’t want to re-up they would trade him to whatever team he wanted this year…  Which they aren’t trying to do now…

Now, given that he is set to become a free agent next year, HE IS WELL WITHIN HIS RIGHT TO EXCERCISE HIS OPTIONS AS A F.A…  For everyone that’s bashing him for being a drama queen, are the same ones that bashed LeBron for keeping quiet about his intentions…  Which one do you prefer??? A player that just leaves and you get next to nothing in return OR a player that tell you he’s not re-signing back ahead of time???  Clearly, if he’s going to be a FA he would only want to go to a team of his choosing…  And with the new CBA it would only be smart to wait till his contract is up before he signs a new deal…  5 years $100 Million > 3 years $60 Million…   At 26 years old, he’s in his prime…  This is almost common sense…

Orlando at this point are playing themselves…  If they didn’t have Dwight, with no talent, and an abundunce of cap room would overpay for players…  If Brooke Lopez was on the market I don’t see why they WOULDN’T sign him to a $60 Million Dollar contract if they didn’t have good players…  Brooke Lopez was a borderline All-Star a couple years ago…  They aren’t fooling anyone…  No one is going to jump and sign with them "just" because…  Teams like Orlando will only get guys there if they overpay or through the draft…  It’s just that way, they need to understand that…

They can go and put this on Dwight all they want, but for the most part it’s their fault…  Take what you can get and move on…  If they aren’t really "INTO" Brooke Lopez then let Dwight walk for nothing…  Don’ make this ridiculous stance like you have a ton of options because YOU DON’T…

All in all, I truly believe Dwight is only doing what’s the best for him…  And Honestly, I can’t blame him I would do it too…

He demanded theat he get traded to one team, severely undercutting the Magic’s trade options when dealing with the Nets. Is that ok?

He tried to get his coach fired. Is that ok?

This is a business first…  If the lock-out wasn’t enough evidence to fans that the owners, nor players really care about making sh!t fair then I don’t know what to tell you…

It’s not his problem, nor his responsiblity for them to get something "in return" for him…  He’s going to play his contract out and go to whatever team he chooses…  If he only going to SIGN an extension to Brooklyn then they trade him to Brooklyn if they want something back…  This isn’t rocket science…  It’s common sense…  If teams will still take him knowing he won’t sign back to them then your list increases…  They can pout all they want, but he’s not an ITEM…  He’s a human being…  As long as he come to play every night until his contracts ends, he done NOTHING wrong…  He hasn’t even came out to the media and said ANYTHING, to ANYONE…  He just told Orlando he’s not signing with anyone and only willing to be traded to Brooklyn if he does a sign and trade…  It’s nothing they can do, and he’s not wrong for feeling that way…

Stan Van Gundy was also the coach that threw Dwight underneath the bus PLENTY of times to the media…  And even with that said, the owner fired him not Dwight…

Everyone could see this coming just like Lebron. Guys want to team up and only play in certain markets. It sucks and is ruining the L IMO but it is what it is. Should have dealt him already. Now they have to take the best deal around the trade deadline or get nothing. I would not want this situation going into next season. Do what you have to do and deal him to rebuild.

Howard does look like a jackass here.  On the other side of the coin the Magic head office has not helped themselves at all.  They owe it to themselves to get as good of a deal as possible, but they may have backed themselves into a corner at this point.

Howard has to be traded.  He is willing to go three places.  LA / NJ / Dallas.  He has the leverage as a free agent next year to get what he wants.  In reality he has given Orlando a do over, and a little more time with his extention.

At this point put everything aside.  Everyone has to finally act like a bunch of professionals and figure it out.

My prediction as before : Howard sits out till the deadline, goes to New Jersey for a fair deal – not what they could have gotten earlier.

and just post gif’s is cool???  LOL… At least I had some type of basis for my opinion…  Truth be told no one has argued it or debated it down…  Only thing I get is Please Stop and he’s a drama queen…  LOL…  That’s like me calling you a b!tch just because I don’t like what you said…  I don’t have no rebuttal to what you wrote… It’s pointless and immature…  If you feel like it’s wrong then reply stating your reasons… Don’t be a jack ass… 🙂

Dwight Howard is a stupid little drama queen …He either sighned that option because A.he wanted more drama or B.He was scared to get traded to bad team but if that would have happened he would have became a free agent and been able to sighn with the nets which is like his dream situation

Nope its all Dwights fault, why opt in if your going to be a whiny b*Tch after the season is over and want out bad? Otis Smith gave you what you wanted and that was a trade to Brooklyn but Dwight got cold feet. Now Otis Smith and SVG are out of a job because of you.

The reason the trade didn’t go through because the MAGIC didn’t want to take Kris Humphries… They also wanted to unload Quentin Richardson, but when a second team didn’t want to take Kris Humphries the talks ended…

The OWNER fired them as a ploy to get Dwight to stay…  But it still didn’t work…  Although they are out of a job because of Dwight, it wasn’t his fault…

Dwight is a b1tch for all of this. He loves the attention. Hope he realizes he is becoming a cancer and the most hated NBA player.

someone has a legal right to do something doesn’t mean they are excused from guil Dwight for all the adverse effects that my rise up from exercising that right. There may be no cause of action for being a douche, but the public dosen’t really care either way. If you have an option and then you choose to exercise it, you have exercised a legal right, but if in doing that you create a situation that adversly effects another group of people, you can’t just sit back and saw "you can’t be mad at me, I had a legal right to do what I did." People are going to be mad at you and they will call you names… its just the way it is.

Dwight should never have opted in, he could have been a free agent this year and gotten all that money anyways. Infact, he could have gotten it earlier then he will be getting it now. I’ve heard that he was/wasn’t blackmailed, that he was afraid people would get mad at him, but I have not heard any reason that makes me think dwight howard is capable of making smart decisions. He played himself by opting in, and he sh*t on his fan’s by holding up his franchise for 2+ years now. Noone has respect for people who sh*t on them and then in turn go and play themselves. Its just a fact… Otis Smith and the old management really effed stuff up too and the probably effed it up worse and for longer, but you can’t just say that dwight had a right to opt in so you can’t be mad at him.

howard is acting childish at this point. all season he made a big deal about wanting to leave, couldve opted out of his contract but decided to stay another year, that is HIS fault. the magic are annoying with engaging teams in trade talks and backing out last minute but you have to understand they want to get something decent in return for a player of howards value. make no mistake tho, howard has been horrible at handling this situation and i am tired of all this talk around howard and i wish we could actually talk more about the upcoming season which i believe is going to be pretty exciting
