Okay lets not overrate Johnson…He is a good young PF not SF not C PF. He can get nice weak side blocks and has good man defense, along with a great motor which helps him rip down rebounds, and chase loose balls.Lets not go crazy about the whole thing thou…

Amir Johnson cant dribble the rock for a 3 or shoot the ball unless its a straight on foul line jumper so please stop saying he should play the 3.He is still very small and way to thin to play the C position full time.Doesnt hold his position well for an NBA 4 and needs to improve that aspect of his game. Scores most of his points on offensive rebounds, or limited offensive moves that wasnt on the defenders scouting report. When focusing on his offensive game his rebounding drops dramatically. He is an energy guy and nothing more. So please stop saying you would give him 30 mil over 5 years like the Gooden contract, stop acting like he is a Top FA because he is not…

At the top of his potential he has a chance to be an NBA starting 4, averaging around 8-10-1-1-2.he could develop into a real defensive force but if he tries to play as an offensive threat it will take from his rebounding and steals and blocks.I would offer him a 5 YR 25 Million Dollar offer at the very most.Thats overpaying but overpaying seems to be the new trend.

The Raptors probally wont re-sign him because Bargnani will play the 4, Davis will sub at the 4 and Johnson is not big enough to play the 5.If we get Joel Anthony and Marcin Gortat there will be no room for him.I hope we find a way to keep him thou.

He won’t ever play the 3, but he’s not even close to overrated. He’s actually underrated. As a backup to the best power forward in the league in Chris Bosh, Amir never really got credited for what he did off the bench. When CB4 was injured, Amir had some very nice games as a starter. I think he had a couple of 20 point 10 rebound games. I think he deserves to make 5 or 6 million dollars a year.

He is a decent back-up and I’d rather have him coming off the bench for Bargani then Ed Davis. He’s still very raw, but he’s also young so give the guy some time to come into his own.

As he scores he gets less efficient rebounding./ He never had a 20 10 game.He had 2 games where he scored 20.When he scored 26 he got 2 rebounds, when he scored 21 he got 5 rebounds.Thats in 34 and 40 minutes.

I love him to death but hes not gonna be a 20PPg guy…Shouldnt even be a 14PPG guy ever in his career.

The reason I’d rather have Davis is because Davis is mean.Johnson is not.

He’d be best fitted in a 6th man role where they have a taller power forward who can play center. Max potential is to be like a Carl Landry

living in detroit ive seen amir play quite a bit… i think the kid could average something like 14 and 10 with a couple blocks…
he may not necessarily be big, but hes a very good athlete, can jump high, and has a nice wingspan…
he just has to keep workin hard and practicing and i think he’ll get his opprotunity..

i also think that drew gooden just got way overpaid… and miluakee wasted money on him… i still wouldnt give amir more than around 20 some mil… but no way gooden is worth that much either..

he can finish around the rim, can’t really handle the ball, not a jump shooter or even really a good free throw shooter, he can play good man defence and is a good rebounder… what makes him good is his motor, jose gave him a lot of passes for his baskets though, so he can’t create his own shot very much… but what people love about him is that he has been in the league for a while and is still extremely young i think like 23 or something like that.
