I ask this cause in the offseason the W’s rejected this but now it looks dumb. Curry has looked tentative, still foul prone, still many dumb passes and we need him to be more aggressive yet he’s been content to just sit back and become invisible at times . The W’s are desperately trying to change into a defensive tea, there roster is full of defenders except Lee and Curry (Monta’s defense has been good early this season and synergy has ranked him pretty high so far, still not a pure defender but you get the point). They held PHX to 43% shooting but just couldn’t rebound or stop fouling or turning the ball over (looking at you steph) and off that they got to 100. But most games there D has been good, now the offense has struggled instead of the defense though

He’s a good player with great talent, 20 and 7 talent on great efficiency but he never wants to really step up and fullfill his potential. Like the Philly game, it was his time to shine since Monta was out yet he was invisible far too often and on a night wher him taking 20+ shots was needed he took 15.

This brings me to Rondo for Curry, Monta has been doing an awesome job passing the ball so far but Rondo would set Monta up for so many easy buckets while letting Monta still make passes and increasing the teams overall defence and aggresiveness. I dont think Boston thinks they can just roll with Rondo after the big 3 is gone and apparently he had attitude there last summer (correct me if im wrong, i dont know the situation). Curry could give them a nice building piece w/o attitude and hopefully the big 3 would rub off on him. Thoughts?

I would take Rondo ny day. He knows how to run this veteran team making the right decisions.

His Jump shot was a weak point but his work ethic is showing this season as his jump shot is much improved.

On top of that he is a very pesky defender which reflects when looking at his steals average almost 2 a game.

Steph is still a young player and has much room to grow.

Rondo. A proven winner and best defensive PG in the league.

A huge DEPENDS,  if you need someone to stretch the floor you take curry and if you need defense and playmaking you go to Rondo,  no easy answer

anyone that wants to trade rondo for stephen curry must not know anything about basketball or he has an inside tip that rondo will be sentenced to 10 years in prison after the season…

If this was fantasy I can see where there would be a debate, but Rondo is a much more effective ball player. Yes, Rondo doesnt have the shooting ability that a curry has. Instead Rondo dominates games with his penetration and probing to find open teammates for ez buckets, or he gets layups. Simply UNSTOPPABLE.

Rondo can also take over games on the defensive end. He will guard the best perimeter guy and slow/shut him down. His overall leadership and hunger just wins games.Rondo all day

Really come on this one is easy take Rondo people forget about his rebounding 4.4 a game.

Also Rondo’s jumper has improved even if its still erratic.

i know im gonna get negs in this, but i would choose curry by a really super small little margin (10 raise to negative 9 margin), i think curry could be a franchise player, i know rondo is a better facilitator, he can make others look good, but if Steph change his attitude and have a killer instinct he could be awesome, i know he is in 3rd year and must have already change but give a little more time, if after 2 more season including this one, then i made a wrong decision.

Rondo’s game gets underated.  Like Chauncey Billups to a degree, I am not sure history will be as kind to Rondo as it should be.  He came in to a situation where all the talk was about the Big 3, but shortly thereafter, although he was viewed as the 4th player….he became their best.  Rondo can dominate a game in several different ways.  As much as I like Steph, I would choose Rondo 8 out of 10 times.  The 2 times I would pick Steph would be dependant upon if I needed a shooter to stretch the floor as mentioned above.  Think of Steph with someone like Hakeem or McHale back in the day…or bring it up to modern day to a guy like Z-Bo.

The celtics would never do that deal. Rondo keeps guy who blow past everyone in front of him. Best defender in the L not named howard

Right now I would pick Rondo by a hair. People forget that Curry hasn’t spent his life as a Pg and is still learning the position. To me it seems like he is trying to become more of a facilitor even though he can light people up. I am also curious what he would look like with a bigger more defensive minded SG next to him.  As far as Rondo goes, he gets overlooked a lot which isn’t fair. The one thing he has going for him is that he walked into the perfect situation to develop his game in. He came in surrounded by veterans and former all stars with high IQs. I think that has advanced his game greatly. I personally think Curry should pass Rondo within the next 2 years.

I like how both guys play within the flow of the game though. Sometimes they do it when it hurts their teams, because both would benefit from being more aggressive on the offensive end at times, but in my opinion that is what makes them guys that teams can also rely upon and do a great job of helping teammates get better shots.

Rajon Rondo is a good bit better than Stephen Curry. For as bad as Rondo’s shot is, Curry’s D is just as bad. Everything else is a landslide in terms of Rondo being better.

Rondo is locked up long term to an effective deal, a superior defender (to every other 1 in the game), a superior passer, superior at penetration, better at running a team.  Steph can shoot lights out, and he’s an effective point, but to suggest he’s close to Rondo, especially with Curry a free agent sooner, is just silly.  Rondo is, with Deron’s early struggles, pretty clearly the third best 1 in the NBA.
