Who else loves Tyler Honeycutt?
I will give LLperez credit...I didn't see it with him.
Then, I watched a couple more games, I think this guy is a potential top 5 pick. He reminds me of a better verison of Trevor Ariza mixed with Austin Daye. I feel Honeycutt is better near the basket, he's good defensively and he even has superstar potential. I'm waiting to see if he can get UCLA to the next level.
I don't see superstar exactly, but I just like him cause he does the little things that every team needs. I think you could put him on any team and he'd fit really well and contribute.
IMO he's a guy that's stat line might not look so impressive, but his team always seems to win because of him.
I like his game he's a lean smooth kind of scorer, he can shoot off the dribbe handle and is a good passer and a hell of and athlete but when I saw him play live he did not impress me. He was very laid back did not look to be assertive he forced alot of passes that ended up being turnovers although you can tell he has good vision. I think with him it's all about changing his mindset if he attacked and played more aggresive he could be great but he settles to much. He is the kind of player where you could tell he's the most talented guy in the gym when you see him in the layup line it's about putting it all together he has all the tools to be a big time player.
def not a ron artest or shane battier kind of player he does not have that kind of toughness and is not a defensive stopper..tayshaun is a better comparison in terms of always doing the right things for his team even though he is not putting up big numbers
he is a mid to late 1st round pick..but not top 10...he's not very strong..he has trouble creating his own shot and doesnt have consistency on his shot.....
yea landry fields is a good comparision but fields motor is on another level..honeycutt plays like he is on cruise control sometimes..he can create his own shot he is a good ball handler but his shot off the dribble is so inconsistent
I don't think he's going to be a shot creator in the NBA. He's mediocre as a ball-handler. He's a good passer, but it's in a ball rotation way, not like he's a point-forward, which is why he's similar to Dudley. He doesn't have the hustle or all-out effort Dudley and Fields have though. That's the difference to me, but he somewhere in the middle of those 2 in terms of shooting ability. He's a decent spot-up shooter.
I'd take him at the end of the first round if im a good playoff team. I still would take Jordan hamilton over him but as a playoff team he would be a good fit off the bench untill he works his way into the starting line up in a couple of seasons
I think he plays like a young Tayshuan Prince with a little bit of Josh Childress...he even has a good offensive game that can get better...Iggy was right about him being a average ball handler but that is the only weak point in his game...he's a top ten prospect for sure and will be a steal if he falls out of the lottery...if he is really 6'7 or 6'8 he'll be a starting Sf for 10 plus years...he's a championship piece...he's as safe a pick they'll be in this class....
not me, his parents probably do though

I love this guy, he's a hard worker, good defender, can hit the outside shot. He is very gritty and does a little bit of everything. I put him in the mold of a Shane Battier/Ron Artest/Tyshaun Prince type player.
I just think he's a really good glue/chemistry guy that can be that missing piece to a championship team, I guy that doesn the little things. I think he's the sleeper in this draft.
