Maybe its just me, but when I read some people’s posts, I find myself really not caring what they say… Some people just never really contribute to a conversation or know what the hell they are talking about.. Now, on the flip side of that, there are some people that I make sure that I reread their post.. When they say something, 90% of the time, I believe it.. They are informative and really know what they are talking about..

    Ex:

    TheOneYouShouldTrust (Made up poster) says:

“Yea, Bosh is a beast.. Best PF in the league and he is going back to the Raptors.. Why would he leave that team? They are poised to compete for championships for years to come…”

After he says that, I dont put a lot of stock into anything he says from there on out…

    Is anyone else like this??

I want to know the posters that you really listen to.. Who are the guys that you believe?? Who are the guys that you make sure you read their posts??

I listen to everyone. Even if i know what their gonna say is stupid.

The best basketball posters are probably Iggy, Tezo, Llperez, you, Dhamp, Knicksboy, Knicksfan, and Magikknick.

It depends on the subject really on whose post I put stock into.

If it is basketball techniques- Either yourself (8th) or Tezo
Overall landscape of scouting- Mr. 6000
    Pac10 Basketball- llperez
Anything that makes me think- 8th, Tezo, stanford hoops, mr.6000, OJJ, money when serious, fastdan, DanEboy, midwest, and rtbt.
    Front office stuff- knicksboy32
For Humor- OJJ, Money, DanEboy, Midwest, revenger, and mcDunkin
There are some other posters I respect as well that I may have forgot to mention.

Yea.. Dont get me wrong, when I click on a thread, I read what everyone has to say regardless of who it is.. Most of the time, I dont even look at who is saying what.. It is when I go back and reread the post that I enjoy or have something to add or disagree with, when I see who is brining what.. I cant even think of the guys that I dont really put much credit into because most of the time, I dont check who they are..

I do read everything people say, its just that I put more credit into what some people say versus others..

    MagikKnick
    Marcusfizer

I think you’re alright, but you keep changing your name. I think you were here before and you were D-WillSomething (ehh, can’t remember) and then WesleyMatthews23.

But I don’t know for sure.

Some guys like Tezo, Iggy, Quincey and QHaynes can change their name, but you still know who they are. I’m not 100% sure I even know who you are, WilliamsFan11.

For those who mentioned me, I appreciate it. It is so many posters that I like on here that it would be hard for me to name. I tend to give props to those in that moment. Yall make it hard because of all the names changes. What happened to Gatorhill. He did say he played ball so maybe he took off. Dhamp seems to be on now and then dogging Dwight Howard and big upping Syracuse. I kind of miss his posts even the crazy ones.

If though I disagree with some posters on here in b ball

I respect a lot of what you guys do

I have been kept up to date on college players that I had no idea who they were because of this site and the many posters who know their stuff.

I tend to be up on NBA past and present but College ball is where i am currently weak. I do try to catch players that a lot of guys talk about and the top guys like Wall, Cousins, Turner, Monroe.

I tend to put out a lot of information because you will have a team that has 3 decent small forwards and they draft that position. Someone’s mock had 2 of OKC picks being shooting guards. Stuff like that makes me wonder like do you know who is on their team. I guess they are just trolls because how can you not know some basic stuff like that. I mean one mistake is understandable but some people obviously have no clue what they are talking about.

I am frustrated by people will get their info from other site and then claim them like it is their opinion but sometimes they have faulty sources. This happened to me once with the Jordan Crawford thing.

I followed 2 sources that were wrong and now that is why even more than before I am big now on being careful about my sources and doing background check.

I used to and kind of even now want to be an NBA GM so there are times i get passionate about some things on here and I try not to but their are people on here they if they were Gm’s and I was too I could easily get the better of all my deals with them.

There are a lot of guys on here that would put me and other current Gm’s to the test though and that is what I like.

I live when you have someone break a guy’s game down more that stats or break down the stats and what that implies the guys does in respect to other players and what not. It shows you really know the game versus being a stat junkie.

Being a stat junkie is not bad but it can be misleading. I used to be a stat junkie and paid attention to the game but as I grew older I realize some stats can be very misleading.

I remember think Mark Madsen was going to be a really good post player because of what he did in college. That was a learning experience for me. I was high on this guy that the magic drafted. Johnny Taylor and Brian Evans. They both were good player in college and I was on my college game. They both did not translate well in the NBA. Evans had a few moments but just never stuck.

I remember being upset and still kind of bummed that Reggie Freemen from Texas did not make it.

Also i am still confused why Jamel Thomas never made it even though he played well in summer leagues and overseas.

I hope you guys continue to grow and I will try to give you some of my takes of things along the way

User’s posts I tend to pay attention to (in no particular order):

Mr. 6000: Is obviously knowledgeable about the players that are in the draft. I want to know how he was able to watch 6 games of Nemanja Bjelica. I love his commitment to bringing us two player profiles just about everyday. It is obvious you put plenty of hours in research in doing this and I’m sure everyone respects you for that.

ButlerBulldogs: Another guy with an opinion (or dare I say facts) about every topic. Good stuff comes from this guy. But you never answered my post about a comparison between Croshere and G. Hayward.

JoeWolf1: His knowledge of the game is evident in every post he makes. Not only the game itself, but he seems to know plenty about the history of the game. I like that.

These are the top 3 in my book, aka tier 1. Great, thought out, easy to understand posts every time. Gatorheels would be on this list if he didn’t disappear.

I have a top secret connection (well I would tell people, but I have no clue how he did it….and he moved to West Virginia and I have no way of contacting him at the moment) with someone that has made it possible for me to dig in the archives of atdhe.net and espn3.com to watch games as far back as January 2009. It comes in handy when trying to watch guys play that are on mocks on this site and DraftExpress that I don’t have regular access to seeing.

I’ve been able to watch a bunch of Paul George, Luke Babbitt, and even some games of Stephon Marbury in China despite them being thousands of miles away from broadcasting where I live.

scarecrow i hope you get out of the hole man but go easy on those crazy trades especially now. With Lebron and other available people are really emotional about their teams. Also sometimes i be thinking you are high when you make your trades. Sorry man just being real. I be trying to figure out what angle you had to have to come up with some of those trades. It boggles my mind so the high theory makes sense to me lol.

Despite me and his argument about Gordan Hayward I do respect Butler’s post. I feel he will learn the hard way about putting your heart on a player to do well just because you really like him as a player.

I have gone through that many times. You almost have to like or hate all players when it comes to talent evaluating because personal bias can really throw you off.

If you look at the past draft it would be better for Hayward to get draft late first or early second because the expectations would be minimal. If a high draft pick does not show enough early on, he gets traded to a team who may not even want him and then he kind of fall out of favor while teams salivate over the next hype dude. Chase will have a longer career now than he would have if he got drafted top 15.

    @MikeNike

You and I have disagreed about a few things. One thing was when you said LeBron should’ve won DPOY over Dwight. I disagreed. Then you said Vareajao should be on the All-Defensive Team. I highly disagreed lol. Then we disagree about who’s better between Kobe and LeBron. I think Kobe is the more complete player and has more focus/killer instinct.

Then we’ve disagreed about John Wall here and there. I think he’ll be a great point guard… I’m just not willing to say he’s going to be a superstar until I see him play in the NBA. I’ve never said that about any player before he entered the NBA… Other than maybe LeBron James.

    @Sheltwon3

I have a close relationship with a lot of players from Indianapolis. Deonta Vaughn from Cincinatti. Devon Dumes from IU. Devon Archie from Iowa. Alex Young from IUPUI. Many others. I’m not dumb though. I’m not going to say they have a chance to be successful in the NBA if they don’t. I also said that George Hill would be successful before anybody else did. I said the same thing about Courtney Lee also. I said BOTH players should be first round picks. Not because I was biased, but because I’d seen them play up close and personal, and knew they were being slept on. I wasn’t suprised when Hill played well at the PIT and then was drafted by the Spurs. I wasn’t surprised when Orlando picked Lee and he played well for them throughout the entire season.

I believe in Hayward because he can play. I’ve watched him up close and personal. He holds his own against Lee, Hill, Gordon, Teague, etc. He’s just as competitive as they are. I haven’t jumped up and said that he deserves to be a lottery pick or that he’ll be a star. I’ve said that he has a chance to be a good player. He’s tough, smart, works hard, can shoot the ball, is versatile and brings winning intangibles. He was held back somewhat at Butler not being able to do as much individually.

You wouldn’t happen to know Deonta Vaughn’s workout schedule would you, as far as what teams he will be working out for?

Deonta Vaughn is the reason Lance Stephenson didn’t play as good as he could’ve. Vaughn seemed like he was trying WAY too hard to prove he was PG. He had a poor season this year.

I haven’t talked to him in a few weeks, so I’m not for sure. I’ve been searching around, but haven’t found anything. From what I’ve heard, he’ll be working out with the Pacers really soon. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up on the Pacers’ summer league team. He’ll end up overseas.

To reply to your comparison of Hayward to Croshere… I think they have a few similarities and share some of the same qualities.

    – Like Croshere, Hayward isn’t an elite three-point shooter. He’s a good three-point shooter, who has a knack for knocking down timely shots.

    – Toughness. Hayward has that same toughness quality Croshere had. That do anything for my team to win toughness. Whether it’s coming out of nowhere to grab an offensive rebound, providing energy or coming up with a key play whether it be defensively or offensively. Croshere wasn’t the biggest or most athletic player, but he fought and battled. Hayward has that same quality.

    – Combo forward. The only difference is Hayward is more of a SF/PF, while Croshere was more of a PF/SF. Croshere could play small forward as a scorer/shooter, but wasn’t the ball handler that Hayward is. He also didn’t have enough lateral quickness to defend other small forwards on the perimeter. While Hayward doesn’t have great lateral quickness, he’s shown that he can defend other small forwards on the perimeter. Croshere was 6′ 10″ and beefed up to 235 lbs. Hayward is 6′ 8″ 211 lbs. I don’t think Hayward will be as effective as a power forward. Croshere could bang down there.

    – Athleticism. Like Croshere, Hayward has underrated athleticism.

They have similarities, but are different players though. Hayward brings more versatility and is a much better ball handler. Better IQ and overall feel to the game. Croshere on the other hand had more size and could bang more down low.

I appreciate being named a few times, I know it’s been awhile but some still recognized me so that’s pretty cool.

i will look out for you yup yup to be honest i realize i have been giving more attention to people i disagree with than those I agree with so I am working on that.

    @ Butler

I liked Courtney Lee coming out and thought that he size has hurt him this far and he does not seem to be that explosive but he game is NBA ready despite what he has shown.

I did not know anything about George Hill until he came in. He fell into a great situation though by going lower.

His game was able to grow and mature in San Antonio better than it would have anywhere else.

From what I have seen about Hayward he does not deserve a top 10 or 15 pick but since you are high on him it would appear he does deserve to be taken first round. I do hope for your sake I am wrong and he is more than an 8th man. I remember arguing with people about Stephon Curry so I understand your commitment. I know if you are right you will let me have it and I can respect that. i will tell you this, I will give you 2 years and if you are still on here and Hayward has not shown anything worthy of being at least a 6th man I will say I told you so in a nice way though.
