My picks (Starters first in order) :

    West

    G – Curry, Lillard, Paul

    G – Harden, Westbrook, Thompson

    F – Durant

    F – Davis, Aldridge, Duncan

    C – Gasol, Cousins

Honorable Mentions : Blake Griffin, Tyson Chandler, Draymond Green(purely for his defense), Zach Randolph, Tony Parker, Dwight Howard (Him Cousins and Griffin to me are toss ups) and Kawhi Leonard (if he wasn’t injured I’d have him in over Duncan)

    East:

    G – Wall, Lowry, Teague

    G – Butler, Irving, Wade

    F – James, Anthony

    F – Gasol, Love

    C – Bosh, Vucevic

Honorable Mentions : Drummond, Noah, Knight, Horford, Millsap

Honestly in the East there aren’t many guys too deserving of being honorables that I can think of right now. This team really misses DeRozan and Paul George…

    Your all star picks?

    West:

    – Kobe will be a starter based on fan votes. I really think he’ll play too, which sucks for Thompson, because he’ll be a huge snub. IF Kobe doesn’t play, then I agree with what you have.

    – KD, surprisingly, hasn’t gotten enough fan votes to be a starter. He’s currently ranked 5th in frontcourt voting. He hasn’t played a lot of games, so if he’s not voted a starter, I don’t see how the coaches could put him in as a reserve. Duncan is closer to closing in on Gasol than KD is, which is just surprising to me even despite KD’s injury.

    East:

    – I’d go with Millsap over Love, but maybe the coaches will give Love the nod based on rep. The Cavs don’t deserve three All-Stars, plus Millsap has been better and on a much better team.

Other than that, I agree with all of your picks.

Paul Millsap over Kevin Love this year and there shouldnt really be a debate about that.Heck you can put you can even put Al Horford over Vucevic. With what the Hawks have been doing, they deserve 2-3 all stars especially in the East.

    West
    G – Curry, Westbrook, Paul
    G – Bryant, Harden
    F – Davis, Aldridge
    F – Griffin, Duncan
    F – Gasol, Cousins, Howard
Hard decisions: Thompson and Lillard (would probably take both over Paul this year, but I see coaches giving it to the veteran).
    East:
    G – Wall, Lowry, Irving
    G – Wade, Butler
    F – James, Millsap
    F – Anthony, Love
    F – Gasol, Bosh, Horford
Hard Decisions: Noah (stats went down), Jefferson (injured and bad team), Gortat (not good enough numbers), and Drummond (good stats but poor team that is now surging, would be next in line). Would choose Teague over Irving as he’s more deserving and Cleveland doesn’t deserve 3 All Stars, but I think the coaches will go with the more fan favourite Irving.

There’s no way Damian Lillard is getting snubbed. He’s a lock. The West carried four point guards last season, so it’s not like there can only be three point guards on the roster.

I feel the same about Jeff Teague. There’s no way he’s getting snubbed. Horford is having a nice season coming off of the injury, but he’s no All-Star.

I’m sorry, but the Timberwolves East cannot and must not get three All-Stars. They are 1-8 without LeBron, and have lost by 15 points eight times so far this season. Just for comparisons sake, the 5-31 Timberwolves West (who have been missing Pekovic and Rubio most of the season) have been beaten by 15 points ten times. The trying to be bad Knicks have been beaten by that much eleven times, and they are 5-35. The Josh Smith led Pistons were beaten by fifteen points twice. Of course, the post-Smith Detroit team is nearly invincible and at 150-1 to win the title might be the best hope to bring money back into that city. Last year’s Cavs lost by fifteen only sixteen times over the entire season, and that team went into the season betting on Andrew Bynum and Anthony Bennett not Kevin Love and LeBron James. It is not as if this is just a few bad bounces going against them.

A line has to be drawn in the sand. What is being rewarded? I know it was always bothersome to some people to argue that the big stat guys on big loss teams shouldn’t be rewarded with all-star bids, but set that argument aside. What about rewarding this particular team? This isn’t a rebuilding team. This wasn’t supposed to be a building season, certainly not after dealing Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love. They then doubled down to bring in J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov. While it has only been two games, it still looks as though J.R. Smith is still J.R. Smith and Timofey Mozgov is still Timofey Mozgov. I guess we have to wait to see whether Iman Shumpert is now Gary Payton, but I have my doubts. When the 2010-11 Heat were 38 games in, they were regularly being criticized for being 29-9. My how times have changed. Even today, you still have guys at ESPN defending Kevin Love against the supposed slight from David Blatt by stating “Kevin’s not a max player yet.” Chris Bosh must be wondering what he did to deserve to be the media’s pinata for four years. I was not the biggest believer in this year’s Cavs team come playoff time because I saw some of the defensive issues coming, but not this, not even anything remotely close to this. I didn’t think the lack of defensive effort would be this much of a caricature. It is hard for an NBA team to get blown out as often as the Cavs are being blown out. Doesn’t it matter that this team with what ESPN thought was the best, 7th best (better than Durant), and 23rd best players going into the season is playing this poorly? And, at very least, shouldn’t that mean that maybe it is time to give it up to Paul Millsap and let someone else have the stage?

The other guys, the role players, have been abysmal this season for the Cavs and Blatt seemingly is using guys the wrong way. This team reminds me more of the first year Miami was together than the Twolves. Although they won’t be as good as that Miami squad as a prime and healthy Wade and Bosh back then are far better than Love and Irving

When LeBron was out, it was absolutely a rewrite of the old Timberwolves. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love packed on their individual stats, and the team lost because they stopped nobody. The 2010-11 Heat were 30-9 at this point, not 19-20. They played defense. Their halfcourt offense was a mess, but they had enough going to overcome it. The 2012-13 Lakers are the prime example of a team that had plenty of offensive talent, but their inability or unwillingness to play defense ruined any chance they had of making a run. This is where the Cavs are at this season. You cannot expect to win in Phoenix when the Suns are shooting 52 percent. On any given night in the NBA, a team can get hot and run you, but it cannot happen every night. Teams are shooting 47.1 percent from the field against the Cavs. Only Minnesota is worse at 49.6 percent. It is a collective effort and collective blame, but I would point out that these same defenses of Kevin Love not being at fault for the wins and losses have followed him from Minnesota to Cleveland.

No love for DeAndre Jordan??? If Dwight Howard had Jordans numbers in rebounds, blocks and FG% he would be a shoe-in to make the team. Lets get some of these young bigs (Jordan, Cousins, Drummond) in the game.

But there is no way he can get in over Davis, Cousins, Howard, Duncan and Gasol and even Chandler

Could be an honorable mention but realistically will never be an all star so as long the West is the way it is
