surveParticipantWhen I first arrived at college, I was expected to fill this guy’s shoes. Even though we wore the same size….figuratively, I was never ever to live up to that expectation. So I packed up and headed west. Teamed up with the son of a legend, a guy who’s name is synonymous with 2 Bucks, and an absolute zero.
Who Am I?

mikeyvthedonParticipantThe big man who was expected to be the "next Tim Duncan" at Wake Forest. Than, he went to Arizona, who I thought was going to win the 2001 NCAA Championship. They instead lost to a Duke team led by Shane Battier, Mike Dunleavy and Jason "Jay" Williams. Jay Williams seemed like a can’t miss prospect, would have been the first pick in the 2001 draft over Kwame Brown.
Oh, and:
Absolute Zero: Gilbert Arenas
Son of legend: Luke Walton
2 bucks: What? Richard Jefferson?

One of my teammates has a unique and popular basketball name that covers about 3 generations.
One of my teammates has a unique basketball name that is becoming popular NOW.

One of my teammates last name is synonymous with a character the Star Wars series.
One of my teammates first name is synonymous with a famous cartoon.
One of my teammates last name you hear on TV all the time, but likely during the commercials.
One of my teammates initials are associated with "choked" in reference the NBA.
Who am I? and…..who are my teammates???

surveParticipantPeople used to come see me play ball at the mansion. I was a national POY. I played in a Final Four. Even though I was slack on D sometimes, if you said I liked to flop I would be offended. I played for an NBA team located in the same state as my college team. I played for every team in one single division. I was a double figure scorer for 5 seasons.

Exactly, that’s the only thing that doesn’t match up. I can’t think of anyone else though

surveParticipantits not T.J. Ford. Play close attention to the clues "Flop" and "Mansion", he was drafted one year before T.J. Ford. lol, now you really have to rethink it….

surveParticipantthats a good guess on Drew Gooden, damn good guess.
He has a POY award (NABC) and he went to a Final Four, and he was drafted that year…..but he didnt play an NBA team that was in the same state as his college team and he didnt play for every team in a single division.
Give you another hint….it was the Central Division.

mikeyvthedonParticipantKendall Marshall (Tommy Lee Jones played a US Marshall. Guessing Matt Dillon has as well)
Name over three generations: James Michael McAdoo (two generations, but it is his uncle and father)
Name popular now: Tyler Zeller, with he and Cody I suppose
Name same as Star Wars actor: Harrison Barnes (Harrison Ford)
Name same as Star Wars character: No idea, John Henson (he was not a character, but Jim Henson created a lot of the muppets and I think costumes for Star Wars characters)
Name in commercials: Leslie McDonald (McDonald’s)
Name same as cartoon: Dexter Strickland (Dexter’s Laboratory. Did not watch it, am familiar with it)
Choked: PJ Hairston (PJ Carlesimo)
Definitely thought it was Kendall Marshall, but the Star Wars character thing is beyond me.
The other one is Flip Murray. Again, some of your clues are a tad misleading, but I suppose he did "Play in a Final Four", albeit at the DII level. He averaged double figures over 3 seasons, it only looked like it might be otherwise due to his having played for multiple teams during a few of those seasons. Why would he be offended if you said he liked to flop? Because he liked to Flip?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/18/2012 - 4:33am #671215
surveParticipantMikey V, you got everything correct.
the Henson name is associated with the character of Yoda (Jim Henson worked on the makeup and design)
Tommy Lee Jones was a U.S. Marshall and Matt Dillion (the fictional one from Gunsmoke, not the actor, was Marshall Matt Dillion) I dont know but the actor Matt Dillion couldve played a U.S. Marshall as well, but when I put the "fictional" in there, I thought some may get it…I know Gunsmoke is an old show though…so.
well, I cant make them too easy…I didnt say Flip played in THE Final Four, I said he played in A Final Four and he was A POY. He did all those things, just not in DI ball. And you are right, he got his nickname because he liked to Flip (not Flop). He played at Strawberry Mansion in HS. He did have avg in double figures 5 seasons….he may not have avg double figures for a single team in a single season because of trades, but between the teams he played for, his cumulative was in double digits.
I tried to make these a little tricky otherwise everyone would know who they are.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantWhen I was young, I played in my heroes’ shadow. I worked hard since I was young cuz I wasn’t physically gifted since day 1. I resist to metal. The Big Fella and I were playing similarly when he was in my area. If you know me then you don’t need to study philosophy. I hate Fords as I’m aggressive to them. Called by some a traitor, I am nonetheless proud of what I have done.
I might have made it a little bit too easy.
