     Hello,

We have seen Hassan play like a top 10 center in the league, maybe he will come down to earth at some point, but the kid has great insticts at defense, an aside from block numbers, he seals his man most of the times (poor Taj Gibson) he can shoot the midrange 13-15 feet and has a difficult to stop hook due to his size, he has shown great instincts also as a rebounder, he is probably 7,1  7,8 wing and 9,6 reach, and maybe in the range of well developed mobility with about a good 260 pounds.

So, even is he comes to earth in his stats, how much will you pay him and how many years, supposing you are a team with more than 20 million of cap space, which would be his market value?

      Honestly???

I really can’t blame you opinion here as the rising cap space might really a reasonable contract if he somehow manages to stay half as good as he has been lately BUT has he really shown enough durability to really earn this type of money already?

Look at JaVale who is similar age but with more mileage but has really trouble beeing healthy the past couple of years. I don’t say he will struggle but nowadays game is killing or at least challenging athletic guys with frames like he has.

He might really be a story and last now for some years playing good on teams who like to spend (or gamble?) on him but I really really would not give him more than 3 years on a very well payed (and likely deserved contract up to 10 million) but this could be one hell of a fiasco if he can’t stay healthy. But bigs like him always and forever will come away with big time contracts…

is reasonable…  I would NOT have said this for Jeremy Lin (I didn’t) and a big contract.  But with Whiteside you can’t deny the impact he has had this year.  The thing that puts him over the ‘Linsanity’ is that everything he does is all hustle.  Blocking shots, protecting the paint, and put backs, these are things almost every team needs.   Unless he becomes lazy (ala Javale McGee) I don’t see how he can come "down to earth"…   I think 10,10, and 2.5 blocks is a reasonable stat line for him…   Anything he does extra on the offensive end is additional money in the bank for a team…

He doesn’t have to produce offensively… All he has to do is stay healthy and continue to understand defensive schemes and play his role.  I will personally go out on a limb and say that Whiteside will be a starter for a long time in this league…  He finally gets "it"…

When I watch him play I see a bigger Theo Ratliff. I think his offense will come down to earth once teams get a scouting report on him and know how to play him, but his defense and rebounding should still hover around 11 boards and 2.5 blocks for the next few seasons. If Deandre and Javale both got 10mil+ off similar years, I think Whiteside definitely deserves similar money.

If it plays like this for the rest of this year and next year on minimum salaries, I could see him getting in excess of 10 mil a year with the cap rising.
