    How is that racist? It is common knowledge that there are not that many white players in the NBA and very rarely are they athletic. I actually like the post. It is interesting. I want to go with David Lee but Birdman is something nice though.

    I understand where you are coming from. It may not be politically correct but the thing is even sports analysis have mentioned stuff like that in their comments. If you want to be honest the stuff that was said about white player that could really be taken as racist that I have heard has come from white people. I actually found myself tying to defend some of the white players they were dogging.

    Im white and I don’t care. If you get past it all it is a fun question.
    I would take out rudy Fernandez and Andrei Kirilenko. Chase Budinger and Joe alexander are good. While David Lee and chris Anderson are solid. But I think Micah Downs should be in there. He was impressive in the college dunk contest this year. I think Chase would probably win though.

    If we’re talking about past players, I’d like to add a younger Brent Barry to the list (yes, I know he’s still in the league). He won the 96 contest, if anyone remembers that, by doing a free throw line dunk.

    Tom Chambers dunk was vicious. Birdman kind of has that Tom Chambers feel to him but I don’t know if he can get that high though

    I was just about to say that Allen. Their are a lot more white people in South Africa than black. Look it up. Now if he would have been born in Zimbabwe or Nigeria then you could have said that.

    People remember school and learning about apartheid and how there are “so many white people” in South Africa. yes there is a higher percentage of white people there (about 10%) than in other African nations, but it’s still about 80% black. Check your facts before asking people to look them up.

    If you think this forum topic is racist, especially if you are white, do the human race a favor and take a couple of sips of antifreeze. Or just get over yourself. Whichever is easier.

    Give me Rudy Fernandez in this contest. He showcased some ups in this years dunk contest, and if the whole thing wasn’t staged we would’ve seen more of his dunks.

    What defines white? Is a Spaniard like Fernandez considered white? Just curious, I’ve always wondered why people are labeled by only color. It would seem ethnicity is a better way to do this. But whatever makes you happy.

    BTW- I’ll take Billy Hoyle any day

    I hated how superman and li’ Nate were the final contests in the dunk contest, from what I saw, Rudy’s dunks were the best and most creative.
    This name recognition thing is really unfair and ain’t cool.
