Would Anthony Davis or Andre Drummond compliment Monroe better? With and Davis you get a weakside shotblocker with good athleticism. Drummond allows Monroe to slide to the 4 and provides a big body to guard the tougher matchups. What do you guys think?

 Its a tuff call I think Monroe’s versatility would be best used at the PF spot, he can be very Tim Duncan-esque, not flashy but hardworking, loves the bank shot not the best athlete but good enough to do anything needed from a PF. That being said I think getting the bigger guy in Drummond would be best for them all around.     Welcome to the Site

1. I doubt the Pistons get the No. 1 pick (Drummond hands down), so they wouldn’t get him anyway.

2. If you put Drummond with Monroe, they will both need the ball in their hands in the post to be effective, which will lead to stunted growth for one of them (most likely Drummond). With Davis, you give Monroe a defensive counterpart that doesn’t need the ball in his hands and works hard on the floor. In way, his play would represent that blue-collar Motor city work ethic.

I disagree. With Drummond, Monroe becomes the secondary post option (he’s too unselfish to look for his own shot consistently) both guys are willing passers too I think they can play off each other.

But I’m still favoring Davis as a better fit. How can you put two players like Drummond and Monroe with their bodies and size in the post TOGETHER? I feel it would crowd the post area and both would get in each others’ way. Davis’ lanky and thin frame gives Monroe space to properly operate in the paint.

 either are a great choice. I’d pick Drummond no matter what, centers are hard to find and Drummond can get physical and score in the paint where as Monroe is the finese guy to compliment.

My draft wants for detroit

1. Drummond, we’ve always needed a true good size center

2. Davis, can you imagine how much better he could be with big ben coaching him

3. Barnes, Daye is clearly not the future, i love jerebko, he’s my fav piston but he’d be great as a 3/4 off the bench.

4. Jeremy Lamb, BG should not be in our future

5. trade down for Meyers Leonard, a 7 foot center who can block shots, big ben can coach him up

 I’m loving those picks of Harrison Barnes and Jeremy Lamb. If getting a big man is Pistons priority #1 then getting a good wing player is priorty 1A. Tayshaun Prince does not need to be featured in this offense as much as he has been. He kills fast breaks with his lack of quickness and stagnates the offense with his boring isolation back downs. I agree with all the picks in that order except for Meyers Leonard, I’m not very high on him and would rather see a Jared Sullinger or even ("The Invisible Man") Perry Jones.

I think thats a question that opposing defenses would be asking, if anything Monroe would have MORE space to operate since Drummond would take some pressure off of the impending double teams

 I see perry being a bust and Sullinger isnt a bad choice wasnt sure on how he’d fit, but ill be honest i havent seen leonard play and based it off of the nbadraft profile

The ideal situation would be us somehow aquiring a second lottery pick to take a post and perimeter player ala the cavs this year.

 Stuckey’s jumper looks much improved I think he could fetch a pick from a projected lotto team.

 Wroten might not enter. But if he does think of him as a Tyreke Evans type, he would be another combo gaurd and you guys have enough of them I think.

 Pistons need a real defensive center. Monroe has always been a natural PF and a creative one, he would be much better with a strong defensive center a la Andre Drummond. The Pistons also have too many tweeners (Daye, Villanueva, Stuckey). They should focus on having a real scoring forward and a real SG, Stuckey is not a PG and Knight is not a natural PG a la Rubio. When they will have a defensive center, a scoring outside threat and a real PG, the Pistons will be much better

I would take either Drummond or Lamb before anyone else for the Pistons. Drummond because he’s a defensive presence that Monroe isn’t and will relieve pressure, I see them working almost like Bynum and Gasol in LA, one a finesse guy, the other a more physical player. Lamb because he’s a pure SG, can create his own shot and gives them their starting backcourt of the future in Knight and Lamb.

Tough call. So tough that I wouldn’t draft either. Drummond is nice but he doesn’t have that fire that consistent killer instinct that I want my big man to have down in the paint. Davis is a tweener. I’d trade the pick or get a good SG cause Ben and Stuckey are depressing…
