I am absolutely sold on the idea that Greg Oden should leave the Blazers.  Their medical staff and he clearly don’t mix. I think his first priority has to find a team with a great medical staff. While, off the top of my head, I’m not sure who that would be, he would have the means of establishing this, right?

One destination does stand out to me, though. How about the Suns, particularly in a Nash sign and trade, but also in just a straight signing.  Amare with his legs, Hill with his feet… the Suns players seem to come back more quickly and better than many other teams.  Oden, obviously, would benefit hugely from this.

Are there any other teams that have stellar medical staffs which Oden might be interested in? I’m rooting heavily for the kid.

I would love to see him end up in Boston; he wouldn’t be playing huge minutes initially, but he could learn from KG/JO and be a big part of their future. If he ever got healthy, he and Rondo would be a great combination.

As far as his health is concerned the Suns seem to have the best medical staff in the NBA, so they would be the ideal landing place for him.

Boston bigs don’t really seemt hat healthy, do they?  Otherwise, it would be a match made in heaven.  I mean, even the young ones like Baby and Perkins…

    Maybe Milwaukee?

He would be a good back up to Bogut.

Boston or Miami seem perfect, not so sure about their medical staffs.

They seem to have done a good job with KG and Wade.

New Orleans, they could resign West, landry, belinelli and move Okafor for Rip Hamilton and Ben Wallace

    Paul – Rip – Ariza – West – Oden

    Jack – Belinelli / Dunn (2nd rounder) – Pondexter – Landry – Wallace

that team could contend if oden stays healthy

Are you assuming Hornets sign Oden ? Wouldn’t they trade Okafor for Oden?

I don’t know if NO has the medical staff. It seems like whatever big they get, gets hurt and stays hurt for longer than expected, but beyond that, great fit.

Miami works, but I don’t, at all, see how they could afford Oden.

The Spurs work frighteningly well.  Next to TD for a few years, then with Blair in the future.  Damn.  If it’s got to be a sign and trade… Parker works and Spurs could even get back another useful player or 2.

He is restricted so unless someone offers him funny money then the Blazers will match the offer. I think they will offer him a 3 year 20-21 million contract and he would be foolish to not sign it. Thats 20 million in guaranteed money and he knows that he might not have long in the NBA since he just can’t stay healthy. If a team offers him a 4 year 40 million contract then I do not see the Blazers matching but it but that would take a big leap of faith to give someone that has played in 25% of games over the past 4 years. Having said that…. I really hope Oden gets healthy and grows to be one of the more dominant centers in the NBA

IMO, Detroit makes the most sense… Pair him with Monroe and you have a fantastic, young pair of bigs… Well, if Oden says healthy… I have been waiting for the Pistons to grab a C to put next to him.. If they can get rid of some bad contracts and get straight with their money, they can sign Oden.

    PG: Stucky
    SG: Gordon
    SF: Daye
    PF: Monroe
    C: Oden

That looks like a nice core with Stucky, Gordon, and Monroe doing the bulk of the scoring with Daye hitting open shots and Oden owning the paint..

OKC cannot win with Ibakka and Perkins in the post. They need someone who can "potentially" provide post offense, as well as the post defense they brought Perkins in for. Blazers need a bruiser to pair with Aldridge. I doubt itll happen, but Perkins for Oden would be a good deal. Oden, if ever healthy, ia athletic enough to run with OKC up tempo offense, and still has potential to become offensive force. At the worst, he can do what Chandler did for Mavs now, and Hornets years ago; remember OKC tried to acquire Chandler from N.O. because his style fits them. Blazers again gets a big Bruiser to pair with Aldridge.

I like the Pistons idea.  What a compliment to Monroe and Det seems to have a great medical staff.

And of course OKC can win with Serge and Perkins in the post.  Serge is 21 and alredy averages nearly as much as KG did when Boston won the title when Boston won the title with he and Perk up front.

KG and Ibakka???????? Its about impact buddy. You can leave Ibakka alone on offense, but not KG.

    KHAM83,

I have been thinking the same thing with Oden being a good fit on the Thunder, but I think he would be more of a backup center, too unreliable to start.  Plus, his offense isn’t THAT great.  Perkins is solid and gives them a decent low post presence with Ibaka giving them shot blocking (basically a younger, more athletic version of Greg Oden).  With the Thunder being very close to getting to the Finals I don’t think they need to gamble with getting Oden (if they could just sign him though then that would be good.  Or what about trading Oden for Aldrich and their first round pick?)  They need more of a guy who can get some baskets in the low post and create his own offense.  I think Big Baby would be a good fit for them.  He can score inside, hit some jumpers, be a good power forward off the bench and even play some center.  Big Baby would be a good fourth scorer for the Thunder behind Durant, Westbrook, and Harden.  He would form a good big man rotation with Ibaka, Perkins, and Collison.

Him and Oden would be a good front court.

Detorit will be in rebuilding mode with all those contracts, i’m looking for them to be the team at the deadline that blows up the roster for expiring deals (charlie V, rip, and BG)

I don’t see the Knicks spending since they want Paul.

Hawks would work, if they have the space.  Do they?

Perkins was just signed to an extension.  Get used to him.  Sorry.
