Where would you rank Carlisle out of the current coaches?

    I’d say:

    As a pure X’s and O’s guy- Top 4 or 5

    Motivator-Top 7 or 8

Late Game Execution/Stopping opponents’ runs-Top 2, probably number one, especially after all the correct button pushing late in games during these playoffs.

    Your guys thoughts?

I don’t think you have to be a genius to tell your team to give the ball to dirk and get the hell outta his way.  He is a great coach though, top 5 fo sho

     current coaches…i’ll say top 3.

    In no particular order:

    Popovich, him, and Doc Rivers

Woah, I wouldn’t go and put him in the conversation with Gregg Popovich.

He’s always been a great coach, but hasn’t always gotten the credit he deserved. Fired after a 50 win season in Detroit. Was a great coach for the Pacers. He should’ve had a championship with the Pacers, had Ron Artest not acted like an idiot and ruined the season.

I’d say he’s top five right now and there may not be anyone better when it comes to making the right adjustments.

Rick Carlisle is underrated, but look at his resume, he’s brought success wherever he’s gone, even teams like Detroit and Indiana who didn’t have NBA star power or superstars but played tough defense. You put him in Dallas with a huge payroll and hall of famers, he wins you a championship with a jump shooting team. I would put him in the top 3 active coaches right now, because this year was some of the most impressive basketball I’ve seen in awhile.

One of the top 5 active coaches at the moment in the NBA. Coach Poppovich is ahead of him, I’d put Doc Rivers about level with him maybe along with George Karl and Mike D’Antoni.
