HOPEFULLY NOT THIS!!!!
A spot on Fresno Pacific University's basketball team wasn't all Lenny Young lost on Monday night.
Young also somehow lost his clothes and all sense of decorum in the process.
The same night that Fresno Pacific coach Chris Wright dismissed Young from the team for missing a game, the 6-foot-2 Coppin State transfer went on a naked rampage near the NAIA school's campus. The Fresno Bee reportsthat Young ran naked through a gas station parking lot, knocked a woman to the ground, tried to steal a police car and withstood three Taser strikes from the police officer trying to stop him before being subdued.
At about 11:30 p.m. on Monday night, a police officer spotted a naked man who appeared intoxicated running through the streets and pounding his fists on the hood of cars and on the bullet-proof glass at the gas station convenience store. From there the account that the police gave to the Bee only gets more bizarre.
As officer Brian Sturgeon was getting his dog, Jack, out of his police car, Young ran up to him. Sturgeon pushed Young back, but Young got in the front seat and put the car in drive.
Sturgeon and Young grappled, and Jack bit Young on his thigh. Young hit the dog as he tried to drive off. Sturgeon and Jack were only partially in the car as they tried to stop Young.
Sturgeon managed to put a foot on the brake pedal, but Young drove the car at about 10 mph across the street. It came to a stop at the gas station.
Officers tried to pull Young from the car. Officer Zack Chastain shot his Taser at Young, but it had no effect. He tried twice more, but he could not slow Young.
Only after officers delivered a blow to Young's wrist with a flashlight could they loosen his grip on the steering wheel sufficiently to pull him from the car and handcuff him. He was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, resisting arrest, vandalism, harming a police dog and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Athletic director Dennis Janzen released a statement indicating erratic behavior like this was out of character for Young. The Philadelphia native had been doing well on the court and in the classroom prior to this incident, according to school officials.
It's easy to chuckle at the outlandish circumstance of Young's arrest, but this is also clearly someone who is in need of help. Hopefully he gets it because a second rampage like this one could wind up in someone getting hurt.

Pretty much sums up everything.
Yea, can't even laugh at this... Something isn't right there mentally.

This sounds like something that would happen in a stupid movie, but not in real life. This is crazy though, they say he was a good guy in the article, he definately had a hard time dealing with being cut, sort of feel bad for him even though he does need some help.
Wow, I got cut a couple weeks ago on the absolute last cut. Until that cut, they were posting lists druing the day, but that time, they just told us in person. I was devastated. I was just so overwhelmed emotionally, after the coaches finished talking to us, I walked out imediatly into the courtyard, and sobbed for around 5 minutes, moped around for another ten, then went outside and waited for my parents to pick me up. While I was waiting outside, the coaches had to pass by me to get to their car, so I talked to the coach for abut ten minutes. I was still upset, but that made me feel better. Now, I'm actually going to go ask coach if they need a manager, cause I think that may help me for next year, but I would never do what this guy did, lol. If the gym was still open that Saturday I was cut, I would've gone to the gym to shoot around. This guy needs to realize this is not the end, but rather the begining.
once when i got cut i accused my coach of sexually assualting me in the locker room and boy it works everytime
sorry u got cut amir...
i remember the exact moment when i got cut my jr. yr. in HS... i really had no facial expression for the rest of the week... but i took a break from bball... then when i returned... i wanted to play people who were way better than me... just remember ur very young... if u work hard at ur skills, and play very good competition, over time u will transcend people who made it over you... im telling you...
i remember my jv and freshmen years, i had no PT what so ever... i remember the coach saying i sucked, and a player actually told me i sucked to... but now i look at it, and those failures were blessings in digiuse... i actually have the talent to play D-2 or D-3 bball, but unfortuanltly, i dont have any time to play on a team since im in college now...
but i never thought i wouldve gotten that good so fast within a year and a half (it does help that i was already a good athlete and 6'2'').
like u said, its not the ending
Never been cut, wouldn't know how I'd react.

He's the juggernaut, female dogs.
And how does a former D-1 player get cut from an NAIA school?
Some people don't handle PCP very well.
You are right...dude might end up in DEE BO'S Chicken Coop!!!
^^^^This guy gets me.
Exactly what I was thinking of at the time.
Only have heard about the insane effects of this drug (well, and seen Smokey freak out in Friday). The guy who told me was kind of a liar:
But, I would like to think he had a positive message about the negative effect some of these drugs have on people. He told us a story about how one time, he was in Seattle and their was a naked dude in a tree. Two police officers showed up, and he told them to wait a while for the guy to calm down because he was dusted. Well, the cops did not listen, and one of them took a wooden ladder to try and climb up to bring the sherm head down. The dude on PCP picked the ladder up with the officer on it, bit through the top rung and threw it.
Well, that story stuck with me. This story definitely reminds me of it, as this guy was going bananas, plus he withheld tasering. PCP just does insane things to a persons adrenaline and ability to withstand pain. I even heard a story of guys taking on 3 police officers, digging through their hands on the pavement, crazy stuff. Hope this guy gets proper help, because this episode sounded pretty bad.
If the alleged statement is correct then there is no way he was not high and/or drunk. Although he may just have gotten way too hammered, somehow lost all his clothes (sh!t happens), then tried to ask white people for help. They reported him as a crazy black man on a rampage, and he got arrested. Simple.
Seriously though this is an extremely unfortunate incident for this young man...I think anybody who takes shots at him in the media or creating jokes about the young man should be ashamed. He obviously needs help and if he got cut from the team for "missing a game" there must be more behind that then his absence. Taking two taser jolts shows he must have been on some sort of drug (PCP sounds right) to still function. People like this in our society need to be guided and treated with care not just frowned upon.
I'd find the stunt he did incredibly difficult if I was hammered. To out run police, while being tazed, while you are drunk, that is amazing in itself.
Immediately when I read this I was thinking, its gotta be PCP. Or this dude is just nuckin futz.
Given the behavior was out of character for him, I'm thinking this is what happened...
He got caught and was like F-it im what am I gonna do now. I guess I'll try PCP, finally, I don't have to pass a drug test or anything. Either that or he smoked some weed or a cigarette (sherm) that was laced, maybe he didn't even know it was laced aka "pulling a smokey".
I'd be interested to hear RIck James thoughts on PCP...
PCP is fugged up! About 4 years ago I was walking downtown late night through downtown club area in Toronto and saw a guy doing that same freak out waving his arms around in the air, face completly contourted, foaming from the mouth like suds in a bubblebath. I remember just sorta watching him from a distance intrigued by this...well unfortunately the best way to describe him would be as a zombie. As he stumbled into the entrance of some parking garage he dropped his walet and I made an easy 50-100 bucks (not sure it was a while ago). I was just a kid at that time and felt like I made a great profit by going with my gut and sorta following him around, now as I am older I understand that although calling the police is not the awnser for every situation where the law is being broken it is the right thing to do for people with extreme substance abuse issues.
If i get cut from the school b-ball team like i did this year, im definetly pullin a Lenny Young. jk i dont want to have to go to juvinile hall or whatever it is where the bad kids go
I wouldn't label them "bad kids". I know plenty of kids who just made a stupid decision and got themselves wound up in juvenile hall or various programs.
Just wanna say that this doesn't make Lenny Young a "bad kid" by any means either. It was a stupid decision, maybe not even one that was all his fault until all the details present themselves, but to say he's a bad kid is over the top. The article even states it was out of character for him. Its when people put a label on someone as a bad person for making a mistake at a young age that is a true shame. Thankfully no one was hurt and I'm sure he's learned something from this.
Some people (not saying you Jayhawk) think drugs are evil. They are NOT evil by any means. I've run into people plenty of times that label me as a bad person b/c I partake in marijuana occassionally. But everyone who knows me knows that if you respect me, I give it back. If you treat me justly, I will be the last one to throw you under a bus, and be the first one standing next to you in a fight.
Drug addicts are not evil, they are not victims either (they made the decision to use those drugs so I don't feel sorry for them and call them victims). They are just people living their lives. Some people can handle using them alot, some a little, some can't. People say don't use them b/c you don't know how they will affect you until later and they can have bad health effects. People need to wake up and realize what "Evil" truly is.

O really, thanks for telling us, I didn't know that this type of behavior was normal for anyone.
