Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantMcDunkin was telling me how he uses these for playing ball and table tennis
So it got me thinking, what shoes do you guys use when playing ball?
I used to use the Nike Zoom Soldier but they were too heavy and uncomfortable.
Now I wear the John Wall Reebok ZigTech Slash in black with a white sole.

For street, jordan retro 13 flints

KayjayParticipantI know once before my homie told me air forces are the worst shoes you can use for basketball. But its what I use, when they are kind of warn out, I convert them into b-ball shoes. Before that I used some Iversons. Lol never use Air forces though, its suicide.

omphalosParticipantHow long have you been wearing the Zigtech? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on them; I picked some up a month or two ago and they really didn’t do it for me, felt great in the open court, but slow/clunky about every else.
At the moment I’m wearing AJ 2010s to ball in, but I’m looking at picking up the Kobe VIs sometime this week after reading a number of good reviews on them.
A more detailed list of my shoe exploits can be found in a post I did a few weeks ago about this very thing in my blog;

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’ve had them for about a month and I have to say, I’m happy with them. I love the feel on them and the fact that they are pretty light, atleast they feel pretty light to me. I like the feel they have running the floor. Overall, I like them alot.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:16pm #480436
omphalosParticipantYeah running the floor they are amazing, I had trouble controlling my dribble a little bit because I was going so much faster than I usually did. How are they working out for you on the defensive end? I found that was the biggest let-down area for me.

BKKnicksfanParticipantCool Greys, KD3’s, Barkleys and Pippens and some all black J’s
That’s my rotation.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:19pm #480441
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, defensively I can’t really slide as well as I used to.. I take great pride in my defense and I like my rep as a lock down defender. But, it is a bit harder to keep shuffling my feet, I tend a slip just a bit and just a bit is enough for the ball handler to take you off the dribble.
They aren’t horrible or bad on defense, but they aren’t as good as I would want them to be but I just work harder now lmao.

goneParticipantKnickboy you play in your cool greys??!!

omphalosParticipantI balled in Space Jams for a few months, still a competitive shoe in the modern game performance wise. Yeah I was always a defensive stopper primarily and playing against opposing PGs I got too frustrated getting beat off the dribble to keep playing in the Zigtech.
Kobe IVs remain the best shoe I’ve balled in, I’m curious to see how the VIs compare.

Tha_PrinceParticipantKobe 6’s, I love em but I can already feel them falling apart
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:31pm #480459
goneParticipantIts a mental thing for me I just cant ball in a low top shoe
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:33pm #480460
Tha_PrinceParticipantI love low top, I just feel quicker in them
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:36pm #480463
HandDownManDown13ParticipantThe Kobe 6’s have an outrigger so its hard to roll your ankle. I’ve got bad ankle problems and the 6’s have done been great for me.

torontoraptors10ParticipantHyperdunks
But I’m wondering if Hyperize’s are any good. Does anyone wear Hyperizes?

Tha_PrinceParticipantAddition to the question, where/who does everyone play for?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 5:48pm #480469

0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/29/2011 - 6:01pm #480483
theasianpersuasionParticipantKobe IV, Kobe V, Kobe VI.
Now that’s where it’s at. Low top’s just make me feel more comfortable, but I could see how some people could get turned off by them.

RickyRubio9ParticipantIf you’re curious about Hyperizers;
I’d rate them at about 6.5They do not last long…
& if you play anytime outside with them you’re guaranteed to get blisters.
Plus I often have trouble with my ankles.I guess they’re good because they’re so light, but Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

LipstickParticipantHaven’t played in nine months. My knees and ankles got old quick, but I used to wear high tops similar to these for ankle support: http://www.amazon.com/Nike-Mens-Dunk-Basketball-Shoes/dp/B00C2DVTJ4/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_1
