Tyreke JohnsonParticipantWhat player’s position would you like to be in that is not a superstar or star in the league so no Kobe, Lebron, Roy, Howard, Durant or any upcoming stars like Jennings, Evans, Curry etc. Just a role player or solid player, I myself would like either Lamar Odom or Mickael Pietrus, Lamar Odom is a solid player, brings versatility to the Lakers, can play SF or PF, is an essential part to the Lakers success, plays about 25 minutes or more depending on the night and to me would be a great role to have on a team if I was not a superstar. He has a good handle, good outside shot, great rebounder and inside post player if he stays aggressive and concentrates and can create his own shot.
Mickael Pietrus has an ideal role, bench player who is a solid defender, comes in hits a couple jump shots defends his man and comes out, plays about 20-25 minutes on a deep, Championship contender Magic team and he has a great role to have on his team that I wouldn’t mind having either.
So tell me what role player or solid player in the NBA’s position and role on a team would you want to have or prefer.

Michael.S.ParticipantProbably Joakim Noah, that guy is one of my favorite players right now. On and off the court.
And then I would take Corey Maggette. For some reason, he is really underrated in the NBA and fan bases everywhere and he is a really good player on all fronts.

sheltwon3ParticipantJosh Childress, I think he is back in the states and will give you what Pietrus gives plus scoring and assists.

meteora619ParticipantBasketball wise:
– Derek Fisher: A respected vet and a proven winner. Comes up big in the clutch, and the only guy who can keep Kobe in check and in line. 5 rings, plays for the Champs and the LA lifestyle would be hard to refuse.
I know he’s not in the league anymore, but I was tempted to say Marko Jaric, simply because he’s married to Adriana Lima haha.

omphalosParticipantI’d go with a lock-down defender like Ronnie Brewer or Tony Allen. You get to go toe-to-toe with the opposition’s best wing and try and keep him in check. It would be a hell of a challenge, but an awesome way to make a living.

paint intruderParticipantJosh Smith.
This guy is just incredibly talented und ridiculously athletic.
It’d be fun flying through the air dunking on some people and blocking some shots. *Lol*
If I were him and I knew – and he surely does – that I’m an exceptional talent I would work my butt off.My second choise probably would be Gerald Wallace.
Always hustling, prime defender and rebounder who exactly knows what he brings to the table.0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/23/2010 - 5:15am #361061

dwat4444ParticipantThabo Sefolosha/Serge Ibaka, i’d love to be a role player on an up and coming team like that.

651TwolvesParticipantHe fits the role of both role player and solid nba player. Coming off the bench, he provides solid scoring for the Mavs. Even averaging about 16 ppg for his career off the bench, he accepted his role on mavs. he chose to resign with them in 2006 when he probably could have gotten a starting job elsewhere. and proof to his solid role play was the nba sixth man award in 2009.
