ibe12ParticipantThis isn’t good for the Sixers at all. If Cleveland changes their mind on Embiid which I wouldn’t blame them that means Embiid will be on the board at 3. The Sixers will be stuck picking a big man whose been hurt two or three times already and he’s only been playing basketball for three years and a guy hardly no one has seen play in a year. You pretty much only have three options.
1. Pick Exum and have two 6’6 guards who can’t shoot.
2. Pick Embiid and pray that these injuries are a fluke, which I doubt.
3. Trade down and get as many assets as you again for this year and next years draft.
I’d go with option 3 but I know the Sixers are going to go Exum. Hopefully Randle will fall to 10.

juves4783Participantwas just revising my mock and wondering the same thing…
i think exum is probably the safest pick. at #10, a shooter. i think hornets are pretty sold on mcdermott so i think they’d probably look at james young since he has sf size or maybe do a giant reach for adrian payne.

Ebown5ParticipantWe don’t know anything about his foot right now, but I would draft him at 3 in a heartbeat.

Clean187ParticipantAgreed. I just think he’s such a transcendant talent that, if there at #3, I’d take him. He’s worth the risk.

B FreeParticipantI have taken some flack for this but I think they should go Noah even if Parker was there. I think he and wiggins will be the two best players from this class. I think Noah will make them a better team all around. He can make Nerlens better by letting him guard the smaller of the two big men on the court. His 250lb frame and 7’4 reach will make them a great defensive duo in the paint. In limited opportunity he has shown he can hit the midrange jumper and even the 3 and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make a difference. If you add a floor spacing shooter at 10 like Nik or Harris depending on who you like better.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantAs a huge Sixers fan, I think we have to take a look at Lavine or Gordon at 3 now.. I would not be surprised if we got them at 3.. They are both young, I think Gordon is the youngest player in the draft. Gordon and Noel could be Blake and Deandre. Lavine has huge upside. Westbrook surprised everyone when he was drafted early, and so did Harden. Sixers now back to day 1. I think taking Lavine or Gordon at 3, then a big or a shooter at 10 seems great. I know we wanted Wiggins and would have settled for Parker, now we are not getting either 1.

delco610ParticipantAre players that are being considered at #10 so why would you consider taking either with #3? As a previous poster indicated we have to wait and see the severity of Embiid’s foot injury. There is still a chance that the Cavs still take him at #1. Or maybe now they would be more inclined to take Wiggins then have us select Emibiid and swap players with us throwing in Thad and possibly an additional pick.

BallinmvpParticipantIn no way shape or form should philly take Lavine at 3. He will be available at 10 most likely, terrible move if they did that

Memphis MadnessParticipantTrade 3 for 6 and 17 if Ainge really wants Embiid.
Then the Sixers have 6, 10, and 17 plus all those second round picks.

BallinAIstyleParticipantIt is still a little too premature to say that Embiid will even drop. Although, I agree this definitely isn’t something the Sixers were hoping for or envisioned. I still feel confident that Wiggins ends up a 76er. Depending on type and severity of foot injury this could be a mute point. Its just difficult to tell with all the BS that goes on among teams behind the scenes this time of the year.
In the end I feel like Hinkie will make a move to move up and get him, just now it will most likely definitely cost us our 3rd and 10th picks. But who knows, this could be some smoke screen made by a team or even possibly the Embiid camp to influence his draft position, in what way I have no idea, but thats the thing no one does. All we know is his agent and "mentor" said he "hurt his foot a few days ago." And as a licensed DPT it doesn’t seem, although with limited information, that this injury occured during a traumatic incident where say Embiid was practicing and jumped and came down awkwardly or else I don’t think it would of taken a few days to be known. Seems to me it could be an overuse/repetitive injury that most likely came on gradually with his increase in activity and intensity after being laid up for a good bit…Could possibly be another stress fracture who knows. And if that was the case that wouldn’t necessary concern me alone, but it would make me ask myself if I thought this was the start of a potentially injury plagued career

hbomb3300ParticipantThey will still get a quality player at 3 whether it’s Vonleh, Exum, or Gordon. If Philly is really dedicated to that up-tempo style than Gordon is the perfect power forward for it. He has the potential to be a better Shawn Marion on the right team.

mike_r232ParticipantI think they go with Embiid. We’ll obviously need to wait to hear more, but they weren’t scared of taking Noel last year. They are gambling and what better way to gamble than on a potential stud C?

SpartanGloryParticipantWe need to continue to push Cleveland to work out a trade for the #1. If that’s not possible then trading down a couple spots might be beneficial. I would not be unhappy about taking Embiid either way though. If he pulls through these injuries he is going to be really good.

TenSecondTomParticipantYou don’t tank all year to get a top pick only to trade it for assets that they already have. You draft the only player who can become the best player at his position long-term; that’s the only thing you can do in that position.
